Up to your old tricks, I see.

I've got ground to make up, and I need all the help I can get from the Redskins. They are not making it hard to pick against them, what with the front office making dumb decisions, players fighting, and scoring little to no points each game. :P

That's such a dishonorable way to make up ground, though, even if you believe the Skins will lose. You should be ashamed.

I'm ashamed (for the team's sake) that I was right. :(

Firstly, save for a horrible call on the fair catch, where ARE was not allowed to field the ball per NFL rules, you would have been wrong.

Secondly, what you fail to understand is that, as Skins fans, your competitors in hognostications are going to pick the Skins to win, so it is unsportsmanlike of you to take advantage of that. As UKSkinsFan might say, it's just not cricket.

I won't pick the skins to win vs ATL, NYG, or any other team I think we won't win against. I'm not a blind loyalist in all regards. If that was the case, then my fantasy teams would be all skins players, too, and I don't think I have anyone other than Cooley on any fantasy team.

Then the honorable thing to do would be to not make a pick in that game. I could understand not picking them, if this were any other pick 'em contest, but not picking them in Hognostications is just wrong, IMHO.

Honorable?? Are you serious?

When the current team decides to honor the Redskins tradition and play honorable football, I will consider blindly calling them victors in every game they play.

Until then, it's open season on their candy asses (as Dwayne Johnson would say). The current players on this team have not earned the benefit of the doubt to blindly believe they have a shot at winning.

Finally, If you don't want people to pick against this team EVER, we ought to consider eliminating the option of picking the winners of any Redskins game in Hognostications, which, IMO is foolish to even consider. My 2 cents

What's there not to get? You expect people to pick the winners of every game and the skins. That's fine if you wanna roll that way. OBviously other people don't. Why is it okay for anyone to say <insert any team> has no chance to win UNLESS it's your favorite team. Is there some magic wand out there?

In case you haven't noticed, our team's not playing Super Bowl caliber football. If we're trying to have the highest percentage of wins for the NFL season, and think that our team won't beat, say, the Giants, then why would you pick them? I can guarantee you that if they play like this in the 2nd 1/2 of the season, I won't be the only one not picking the skins every week.

And as for what I 'don't get,' there's places you can put it where I 'cant' see it'

We all are Redskins fans and this is a contest that does not "cost" you anything or mean anything no matter which team anyone selects :D

I would equate predicting or thinking the Redskins have no chance at winning a game with being able to wear another team's jersey - not buy another team's jersey but just being able to put it on

some Redskins' fans here might want to pick against the team and some of us will call them all sorts of names and equate them as 'traitors' or such but that is each fan's choice - I could never do that

The point you don't seem to get is highlighted above. I don't think I could make it any more clear. SkinsJock did a pretty good job of explaining it too. It's not that I think you should show blind loyalty to the Skins, or even believe they have a chance to win any particular game. It has to do with sportsmanship in the Hognostications contest, which is for pride only amongst Skins fans on this particular message board. If you can't understand that concept, then I'm sorry.

No need to make your nasty, suggestive comment about where I can stick it, it's just my opinion, you are free to pick the games as you see fit. Just as I am free to judge your picks and posts by the class they demonstrate... or not.

I completley understand what point is being made, and I don't agree with it. You can judge me, talk about me, print my avatar and throw darts at it for all I care. I'll do ya one better; Bob put a pic of us up from his place last week in a blog, print that sucker out and put a curse on me...I couldn't care less if you paid me.

...and when I care what you think of my posts or picks, I'll be sure to let you know.

I love Karma. Sure, I lost on my Skins pick in this one, but in my regular pool with roughly 135 people of course I picked the Skins and we covered the spread, lost by 3 when the spread was 3.5. I tied for second, but won the tiebreaker on points and $75. Go Skins! If you can't win, cover! But win.

As for me though, I don't pick the Skins every week for loyalty, I do it because I always think we will win this week. I'm just saying...
