And hopefully we can bring in another vet, or even a PS guy, to back-fill the hole in our depth at that position. We can move the ball between the 20s, even on good teams, as we have all seen, so that tells me the offense is not really as bad as some make it out to be. The trouble is in the red zone, and I feel that mainly falls on Zorn's play calling. I have to believe that is a correctable problem.
As to the true meaning of preseason ... sorry if I take that argument with a grain of salt.
Moving the ball between the 20's ? .... yes, but only against the Rams, who have a new coach, a new system and are in re-building mode.
But even the running game, which has always been solid for us, is badly lacking now. The passing and receiving game is questionable at best against solid defenses.
Please do not misundertand me. My argument all along is that this team is not a disaster. My argument is that it is a MEDIOCRE team whose record will stand at 8 - 8 plus / minus one game either side.
That is our bet and its price is to hold the FO accountable for it.

This is where I feel you are gloating prematurely, not over the team's fortunes.
I still say our defense is good enough to keep us competitive in all our games this season, and if the offense can get it together even a little bit, you may still live to regret the bet, when you have to give The Danny props for his savvy moves.

Agreed, maybe we could if there was at least a CHANCE weweren't going to run. But since there clearly isn't the point is mute.

I think this may be an injury that is pretty timely for us. It allows Rinehart to get some experience against some poor teams over the next few weeks so he's hopefully full go when we face better competition the last half of the season. I think RT has seen his final days as a Skin.

Deadskins wrote:No I'm just saying there is still a chance for them to get it together. A W is still a W. The 2000 Ravens won a SB with a pathetic offense that went like five or six games straight without scoring an offensive TD. We have a great defense, and anything can happen on any given Sunday. You are already dooming them to a mediocre season after two games. You may not be gloating, but you are saying "I told you so." And a bit prematurely, IMO.
The 2000 Ravens were 1 of the top 10 defenses in NFL history. I like our defense, but let's keep in realistic.

I was thinking the same thing. He did a great job for us, I hope the best for him.

And they have no idea who will replace him (since he was expected to play every game

)

What's scary is...we are talking about a new QB next year and we may have to get a new RT and RG and play with a aging LT and C!!

The Center is a free agent at the end of the year, so they may need to replace him as well.
