True. And the media hypes endless stereotypical nonsense around the same that a guy who became a billionaire is a nit wit who would make any stupid trade and a lot of saps fall for it either because they don't know any better or it fits their personal agenda. Or both.
Some of us are endlessly trying to. To the chagrin of some others as you can telljdubya wrote: Can't someone tell the Danny to snap out of it??

I have no idea what their board looks like, so I won't venture beyond that
Having said that, I will now go out on a limb, and predict that: they will do something.

The way I look at it is that we've made our bed, traded away many of our picks, and if we just accept it this year, deal with the consequences, and move on, our future looks a lot brighter.
I agree Irn-Bru, except the trading down is OK with me if we don't have the guys we want available at #13. But trading up and it making sense is hard to imagine unless someone just gives us a pick for below value and you sure can't count on that. But you never know, teams to things like the year we traded #5 to the Aints for all their picks so they could draft a pot head.

Ahh, I miss Casserly

What I really want to happen is for Andre Smith to fall to us. But realistically, I expect us to get Michael Oher. And I'd be quite happy with that! We could use him at RT for 2-3 years while Samuels finishes out his Pro bowl years and then move him into his natural LT spot, where he dominates for years to come....
Scottskins wrote:Anyone remember the Champ draft. I remember Cass traded out of our spot and still got Champ at #7, but who was the other guy we got from that trade?
And also, remind me how we got Arrington AND Samuels...
Scottskins wrote:True Countertrey, but I think our personnel was a lot better with Casserly at the helm. After Cass left, our drafts divebombed as we started trading away draft picks for old used up vets who sucked our cap space up as well. I think we can all agree, more picks are better. At least the cowboys suck at talent evaluation. With as many extra 1st round picks as they've had over the last ten years, you'd think they'd have 4 more superbowls. God I hope Snyder means it when he says he's not trading our 2010 1st rounder...

I call BS. Charley Casserly was GM from 1989 to 1999 (granted he was executive of the year in 1999 but whatever.) Look at his drafts:
http://www.the-hogs.net/History/draftHistory.php
He drafted Desmond Howard, Heath Shuler, Michael Westbrook, and Andre Johnson. Casserly did draft some stars later on, but just looking at his drafts the first couple rounds are spotty and there's not many starters from the later rounds. After the 3rd round he's got Brian Mitchell, Keenan McCardell, Gus Frerotte, Jamie Asher, and Albert Connell... I mean 5 guys in ten years who were decent players? There's more to being a GM then just the draft, but still. His drafting was nothing special.
