John Madden to retire....

Madden has been a shell of his former brilliant self since around 99. It's long past time for him to retire.

Chris Collinsworth, like Joey T, is a self important shill, who likes to hear himself talk.

Why do we need anything beyond the play by play? Just call the stupid game. :roll:

I like the Buck-Aikman duo on FOX but I don't think they should be able to do Cowboys games (which they mostly do) because Aikman does show his bias too much sometimes, especially against the 'Skins

I like Aikman. I always thought he had good things to say about the skins when lots didn't

I agree with the few who was tired of hearing Madden. As of late Madden just bored the heck out of me. I actually liked seeing a non football guy call the game alongside an expert. Like Dennis Miller. He had no clue but it was very entertaining to see a non expert give his opinion. Maybe even have guest celebrities call a few games?

I'd pay a bit extra to hear two fans from the teams playing call the game. Now that would be funny.

I would love that. Especially the Redskins game. Open up with a segment on the front office. That should really please the fans.

I am with you dc native. I enjoyed when madden called redskins games. He has the perfect football voice IMO. I also enjoyed his analogies. He was a member of the old school with the attitude that football is a game where guys get dirty and beat each other up and that is how I feel he commentated the game.
