That's ridiculous. Hall has played his rear off since joining the team, and you better bet he signs a long term contract. The defense in general have played exceptionally well all year, especially when you consider te lack of a solid pass rush.

Interestingly, the way to shut Philthy was three CBs and one Safety for the most part. Great defemse game call by Blache.

There was pressure on McNab. Pressure by the DL helps the secondary.

We do have some valuable elements in our offense BUT we do not have a QB. There is one game left this season but I am convinced that Jason does not have the mental and physical skills to be a top NFL QB.

He will do fine as a back up. He may have the occasional good game if he gets EXCELENT pass protection but otherwise, he just does not cut it.

Thank you. Hall, in particular, played a major role in ensuring that field position continued to favor the Redskins through the second half. He was a man among boys in coverage, and really had a huge hand in messing up Deshawn Jackson's day. The play where Jackson had a shot in the endzone was actually pretty good coverage. The ball was very well thrown, to a spot where Jackson was the only one who had a shot. There's no harm in getting some help from the monster free safety that happened to get into Jacskon's head... (thank you, LL).

Beyond that, for much of the third quarter, the Redskins went with a 3 MAN RUSH, and Man to Man cover on the wideouts. Just how long do you expect the corners to stay glued to the receivers when there is no pass rush?????

its hard to believe this... but if we beat cincy last week, we would be controlling our own destiny right now heading into the last week. instead, we are eliminated. sucks. and today is my birthday.

But you could say that INCONSISTENCY killed our playoff chances this year. We should have and could have easily defeated the Rams as well.

It is what it is and I am glad the win will get the media and the bad fans off Zorn's back, at least for one more week.

of course, by the skins winning, we pushed Dallas into the 6th seed in the playoffs.

Happy Birthday and you could say if we beat the rams and the Bengals, two games we should've won, we would be in great shape right now.

But to this game, I think Blache did a great job like usual and Laron Landry had a great game. He saved the game by helping Smoot on that last play. I cant wait to see him healthy for the beginning of next year and become the Pro Bowler that I think he will be.

Deangelo Hall had a good game even though he got beat a couple of times by Jackson and got lucky with him dropping it. I hope to see him again next year.

Campbell looked a little better than he has the last couple weeks considering he was still under a lot of pressure.

the game plan was good and worked nice 2 or maybe what 3 penalties
and the defense wow pressure all day every where. even the two deep balls were defended well enough to keep me interested. happy b-day, cambell was off on about 4 or 5 balls and the recievers all made terrific plays. Favorite catch cooleys one hander.....

we need a qb desperately.

The Redskins played a decent game, and held on for a win. Not much bad you can say about that in retrospect.

If this team pulls a 9-7 out of the hat, I would definitely be impressed.

At one point during the interview after Frank Hanrahan asked "You're happy with the job Zorn has done and he'll be back next year?" then there was a PREGNANT PAUSE and thet's when Vinny said that his future hasn't been discussed IN THE BUILDING. Why not just come out and say YES HE WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR?

Having said that, the fact that Snyder has had 6 coaches in 10 years, I think coaches would be VERY cautious when considereing coming to work for a guy who seemingly has a quick trigger finger on coaches.

Keep this in mind, Zorn is not a Vinny, Danny find. He wouldn't have been on the radar screen if Fassel hadn't mentioned him. Then, for whatever reason, coordinators were hired first before the head coach and only when everybody turned this job down, Zorn was offered the head coaching job. He was shocked just like most of us.

he is a learner and a thinker he wants the job for the long run and I, In my opinion will vote KEEP THE COACH. he will be surrounded with good people and coaches the skins football team as a head coach very well

one more week left and I am allready convinced that he should be a pilar at the HC position.

The Seahawks only got good would Holmgren gave up his Team President / GM responsibilities. Why would we want him in that capacity? He was terrible at player personnel. If he wants to be QB Coach, I'll take him.

If Zorn is not the Coach next year, then Danny should get fired. I think that he did everything he could have done as a first year coach. Hell, we have a better record than a lot of teams and being that we installed a new offense, one would only expect it to stall.

Today was a great win. Gives the guys a lot to be excited for going into the off season and hopefully will have them ready to play next weekend to finish off on a high note. So we will see. Something tells me that I see us drafting need not best player available. Just my thinking.

I agree...and let's be reasonable. The team has a good chance of going 9-7...which is the same record as last year. Not bad for a 1st year coach. I am concerned about Campbell however...he doesn't appear to be getting any better to me.

I would expect the Danny to make a strong run at Matt Cassel in the off-season. I think it speaks volumes that they haven't re-signed Jason Campbell yet to a long term deal. Did you notice that whenever he was playing well, the word from Redskins Park was that they have been working out the details on a new deal. Now since he has fallen back in 2007 mode the talks have died out. Just wondering if there's not a lot more to this.


A couple of other points....

I went to the game...as I have for as long as I can remember, and this was the first time that I can remember that Skins fans showed up for a game after they had been eliminated (for all intensive purposes). I was waiting to walk into the stadium to tens of thousands of Eagles fans (like for the Pittsburgh game), but just the opposite. There were a lot of empty seats, but not a lot of Philly fans.

Deangelo needs to be resigned.
Springs was lights out also.

What's the deal with Carlos and Smoot? Philly was successful at only one thing today...going after Fred Smoot.

Why did we think that we could drop Lorenzo Alexander into the flat to guard Westbrook? This was insane.

I think JC will be awesome next year. Look at most starters in contract seasons. So if I were Danny or Vinny, I would sign him either. Give him something to work twards and then he will create habits.

I think Campbells biggest problem is that he is afraid to make a mistake. He also never improvises which there are a ton of opportunities that he could have varied from the script. But these two issues will get resolved once he is more comfortable in the offense and gets some more self confidence in his role.

All of these will be fixed in the off season.

Wow! You must not have noticed the Ravens or the Falcons this year, just to name 2. Frankly, for the money that Snyder pays out, I would expect a better on-field product. I am NOT content with 9-7, sorry. If other teams can get rookie this and rookie that and be sucessful, then why can't the Redskins? This is just getting soooo old.

As far as Zorn, I don't like at all what he has done in the 2nd half of the season, but I think that he should stay. Campbell, on the other hand, is another wasted draft pick. He's servicable, at best. Hell, I'd take ramsey back right now; we at least know that he'd be willing to chuck the ball down the field. Why is it that Campbell only seems to do it when he feels that he should, not when it's the right time? Two of his long passes today were into double coverage at LEAST! He can't spot man coverage and do it then? He just isn't the one, and I have been a Campbell guy for awhile...

You don't know what the coverages were that last drive, either. I suspect that if the corners are kickin tail the 1st 50 minutes and then "suck" the last 10, it's not the corners' fault, but the D coord.

He's had 4 years to work towards something... how many more years will it take?

I'd have to agree.

We don't have a defense that can attack in the final minutes of a game becuse we can't pressure the QB. Gregg is playing it right for the personnel that we have.

1. Don't get beat deep.
2. Keep them in front of you.
3. Make them burn their timeouts.
4. When they get to the redzone the field shrinks and becomes easier to defend.
