"Clinton Portis remains a game time decision for Sunday night’s matchup against the Dallas Cowboys at FedExField.
Three hours before kickoff on Sunday, Portis was on the field testing his injured knee. He appeared to be able to cut on the knee without any noticeable pain.
Among those watching the warm-ups were head coach Jim Zorn, assistant head coach-running backs Stump Mitchell, director of sports medicine Bubba Tyer, head athletic trainer John Burrell and physical therapist Larry Hess.
They appeared to be taking particular note of Portis’s ability to block pass-rushers on the injured knee.
After the workout, Portis huddled with team officials on the sidelines to discuss his availability. Television cameras filmed the meeting, but they were quickly ushered away.
Portis suffered the knee injury in the days following the Redskins’ 23-6 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Nov. 3. The injury worsened during the bye week.
Portis was not able to practice on the knee in the days leading up to the Cowboys game.
Since Portis had missed so much practice time, Zorn indicated that he would not be inclined to give Portis a heavy role should he be active for the Cowboys game.
Inactives for each game are announced about an hour before kickoff. "

The Redskins have no control over betting lines, obviously, but there was genuine surprise by coaches and players last week when they were listed as underdogs for the Cowboys game at FedExField.
“It bothers me a little bit,” defensive coordinator Greg Blache admitted. “I told my guys that they should be a little upset about it. Here’s a team that we’ve beaten at their place and they come into our place, yet still we are an underdog.
“It is a little bit of a slight. I take it personal, and I hope the guys take it personal, too.”

I hope the team comes out fired up.
