Talk about the Washington Football Team here. Do you bleed burgundy and gold?

It has finally happened. The Redskins are expected to wear burgundy pants and burgundy jerseys for Monday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It's the first time--at least in recent memory--that the team has worn burgundy on burgundy uniforms. Players have talked about wearing burgundy on burgundy for years, and earlier this season Jim Zorn indicated it would be a possibility for cold weather games. White on white uniforms has become a fashion trend for the Redskins in recent years. This year, the Redskins are 4-1 wearing white on white uniforms. They are 2-0 wearing burgundy jerseys and white pants (wins over Dallas and Philadelphia) and 0-1 wearing white jerseys and burgundy pants (loss to New York Giants).

What will it take to bring back the classic '70s look of burgundy jerseys and gold pants? Why do they shun the gold part of B&G?

Pre=Game view on ESPN confirms it. It will definitely be Burgundy jerseys and Burgundy pants.

Just saw the uniforms on the ESPN pregame show and think they look very cool. I like this look.

Amen, brother. Now that was the look!
This B on B look doesn't do it for me, even though we still look better than the other 31 teams.

I feared this day. Utterly grotesque.
I thought that if they ever did this, it would be for a game at Dallas.
Curiosity has now been fed. Once is enough, thank you.

Hopefully the game's outcome will keep us out of the burgundy on burgundy look in the future.

AMEN. It's hard for JC to see sub 6' recievers running around downfield under the lights in that color, well, that and all those white jerseys in the way...

I believe the Redskins are now 0-2 in burgundy pants -- @ NYG in Week 1 and then last night.
I think the white-on-white started in the home opener against NO, right?
That would make them 6-1 in white pants.

Not a big fan of burgundy on burgundy. At all. I think it looked crappy!!!
Why don't we stick to the classic white jersey with burgundy pants?? That was the standard for years and years.
That was the combination worn in every Super Bowl win.
When I think of John Riggins running over Don McNeal, I think of that combo. When I see Ricky Sanders, in San Diego, screeching down the sidelines with the lead-footed Tony Lilly in chase, I think of that combo.
Why do they have to mess with tradition?? It's really simple. White shirt, burgundy pants...period!!!
For the record...the Redskins had NEVER worn burgundy on burgundy, ever. Also, the ONLY time they ever wore the burgundy shirts with white pants at home was during Marty's one season in 2001. Look it up.
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS. The finest team in the NFL because the FANS make it so.

Honestly, does anyone REALLY think that the uniform color actually affects anything?

Honestly I do... I think the brighter the jerseys of your recievers the faster it is that you recognize them as your target.

Burgundy is a nice contrast to the green field I thought.
