This was an article about Zorn yelling at Portis during the game...

Portis got an earful from Zorn on the bench because the running back was having problems with his equipment when the Redskins had the ball and the coach didn't know he wasn't available.

"He just misunderstood the situation and we had a sweet exchange of words," Zorn said. "It was the heat of the game for me.

"We just came to an understanding. We talked about it at halftime. We talked about it in front of the team."

Portis said the confrontation shouldn't be blown out of proportion.

"It wasn't nothing major. It was just miscommunication," Portis said. "I regret that it happened because I never want someone to feel like I wasn't there."

Here's another Article...

And then there was the heated exchange between Zorn and Portis early in the second quarter. On Washington's final possession of the first quarter, Portis did not inform coaches he had gone to the sideline for a break and backup running back Shaun Alexander had replaced him for a play, Portis said.

"It was one play," Portis said. "I think it was just blown out of proportion. He was excited, and I was excited. When two grown men get excited, and two grown men eager to win, you have that miscommunication."

Campbell makes the throws when we need them. Portis has been outstanding this year.

Cant say enough about the holes the offensive line is creating for Portis as well. Cooley always seems to be clutch. Moss is a big play threat at all times.

Any win is a good win.

The commentators made a good point. How many teams have the talent to run TE screens? Cooley's rumblin, bumblin, tumblin self got it done a few times.

As well as the defense has been playing, we don't get any turnovers, and we need to somehow get a pass-rush. Orlovsky had all day in the pocket.

I agree about the lack of QB pressure - and it's not like Detroit has a great line. We're just giving opposing QBs too much time, and it wasn't just this game. It was quite a contrast to the Giants/Steelers game I watched after the 'skins. The Giants were chasing Rothlisberger all over the place.

All that being said, I'm happy for the W.

Roethlisberger has been sacked almost more than any other QB this season, so hopefully we'll be able to generate something on Monday.

Not to mention all of the injuries that the Steelers have. (They even lost their long-snapper for the season last night!) We are playing Pittsburgh at a somewhat opportune moment. I'm trying not to get too excited at the idea of being 7-2, having a bye, and facing an ailing Dallas in Washington the week after. . .but it's hard not to get worked up.

I agree.

Our offense MUST take this opportunity. As usual our defense will hold Pitt to a reasonable number of points. Our offense must revert to playing mistake free football and get some points up on the board consistently.

No worries, our guys step up whenever they need to. We diffused the red hot Browns, we can do it to a 1 dimensional team like the steelers.

A win is a win, but something's not ticking 100 percent.

I hope Pitt does not expose us.

I haven't figured out if the Skins are playing down to their competition and that's why their games end up being so close, or if the difference between the best teams and the worst teams is very small. At any rate, the Skins will have to play better against the Steelers than they did against the Lions if they're gonna come away with a W this week.

Or maybe the reality of it is that we're halfway through the 1st year in...

- a new offense
with...
- a rookie HC
and...
- a young QB in his 30th offense.

Meh. Im glad we won but it's really not satistfying. If you looked at the yards we put up without the scoreboard you would think we won by 40+...Our D-line needs drastic improvement. We really need to aquire a dominating DT this offseason.

I really wish you'd stop bringing logic and thought in to this forum. It's getting quite tiresome!!
