we will see more "air time" when that is needed - we are still a work in progress and while the running game is working so well we do not need to pass for the sake of passing

I have a feeling that when the new guys and the present WRs are all showing the form in pratcice that Zorn wants AND the game dictates a need to take the chances that the passing game entails - then we will see more of it

Right now I think everyone is just having so much fun just running up the yards that is what we should continue to do.

I hope this week is a very big running game - I would love to see Alexander and Portis get 110 yards each on the ground and own the clock for 40 minutes

Perfect... that's exactly what JZ is going for and accomplishing. That fact that you aren't "sold" is just the thought he wants every other team have. JZ doesn't want anyone to be sold, otherwise they will be able to key in on what he intends to do.

It's about keeping defenses honest and guessing. Portis said earlier last week that defenses are now having to adjust to our offense, rather than our offense having to adjust to their defense, like in recent years past. We've also heard Portis say that Zorn will put in new plays the day of the game that have been practiced only a few times. Why show the entire arsenal when it's not necessary?

On what source do you have this information from?

Portis himself, in recent post game interviews. The guys calling the game Sunday also spoke specifically about Portis' comments regarding defenses now having to adjust to our offense.

And guys, it's not like our passing game is inept. I know they didn't air it out the past two weeks, but some of our WR's have had big games so far this season. After rereadign this thread, I think my point may have not been expressed clearly. I'm not trying ot say that JZ doesn't have faith in the people we have in place presently. I was trying to express that I don't think JZ is as comfortable with the offense grasping the passing scheme as we (I specifically) thought in earlier games. I'm not insinuating in the least that we don't have the talent of JZ doesn't think this team can graps his scheme. I was simply trying to express that there's more work on the table than we (Again, I specifically) interpreted from earlier performances.

I realize that most fans will judge performance differently than the coaches will. A prime example is Brennan in the pre-season. He looked to be getting things done, but the coaches saw a raw talent with not a lot of control. He was said to have made a lot of dangerous throws (which I interpreted the comments to mean he needs to judge the situation better) that were successful, but not a type of pass that a professional QB should be doing a majority of the time.

people r forgetting that JC had a hurt groin, I think Zorn ran the ball a lot to protect JC from getting hit and further damaging his health. It shows how adaptable he is.
