Redskins 26 wins versus Lions 10 wins (mostly in pre-historic times, i.e., before Welch ). But otherssay 27 - 10.

Detroit truly sucks this year. We'd better not have another sub 7 point win. Not that I wouldn't take it, but we need to beat bad teams by more then that and they are BAD. I picked 1-4 Houston over them last week in my SURVIVOR pool and didn't sweat it and didn't need to even if they scored some late points to make it seem closer then it was.

The Lions have been outscored 54-0 in the 1st quarter this season, so yeah, I'd say we should get off to a fast start.
Not worried about this game at all. We will work the Lions like a second job. Or beat them like a red-headed stepchild. Or...

Don't gage our performance by others in similar circumstance. We've not come hard and fast out of the gate yet, and I don't expect it this week. JZ is methodical and persevering, not a flash out of the gates.

I think it's too early to say that. You're saying that about a man who refuses to defer receiving the initial kick-off because he wants to score 1st. The lack of scoring is due to a lack of execution. If we execute we score early and often. It's the players who aren't scoring not the coach.

JZ called the draw after Jason tweaked his groin. - That's smart because why should he call a play to bomb it to Moss so that Jason can underthrow it due to his injury.

After Zorn evaluated Jason, later in the half he dialed up a play to a wide open Fred Davis. Jason couldn't get the ball there accurately cus of his groin.

i agree pretty much with all the posts.. only thing I'd like to add is that we need to score a bunch of points so they have to play catch up. kevin smith is getting the majority of carries while rudi johnson is second (3rd was actually kitna ) which means they'll have to air it out often which will give our DBs some chances to get turnovers.

and yes.. I'm the biggest carlos rodgers hater but I'm eating my crow (gladly). i'm happy to see the guy stepping up and filling his role like a beast.. good stuff.

los needs to do a good job on calvin. They will not be able to run. And they probably won't be able to stop the run or pass. So just stop Calvin.

he's done a job on every reciever put in front him so far. No reason to think he won't do a job again with Calvin, specially with LaRon lurking in the deep shadows to lay a hit. This has the potential for a great game for the offense and a domination statement by the defense.

it is mid week, and i dont feel any more at ease about this game....

i just have a bad feeling the lions will have the ball in thier hands at the end of the game with a chance to win or tie.....

Yeah, this one is going to be enjoyable. Skins win.

Unlike the other teams in this "we should win those" stretch, they really dont have the weapons. The Rams and Browns at least had weapons that were underachieving that posed a certain threat, this team doesnt match up well, anywhere.

Still doesnt mean we should take them lightly.

There was a pukes team that won only 1 game all year

I really think that losing to the Rams and having a game like we had last week with the Browns: this team this week will be prepared to play - the Lions are not terrible but unfortunately they just will not be able to play with this Redskins team

I do not see a major blowout - I really think we will see a game where some different packages may get some work but there is no way in the NFL that you want to show anyone what you can do when you do not need to - teams use a lot of film to prepare and I do not want any of the next 2 opponents (after the Lions) to get any glimpse of what we might be able to do in preparation for our game.

That being said - i would like to see more out of Davis and Thomas in the near future.

I really hope we'll air it out downfield for the rookies to get a shot at a TD. Heck, if there's a team we can get that off with its definitely the Lions.

This is true only once a game has reached "blowout" proportions. This Redskins team is not so good that they can afford to play coy little "let's not show this" games. Zorn knows this. His first priority will be to win the game, and he will do whatever he feels is necessary to do that.

I am certain that, after moving the ball with little difficulty against the Rams, yet consistently failing to seal the deal, then one week later, moving the ball pretty much at will but having only 14 points to show for it, he is going to want to see some scoring production this week. Expect him to attempt to break the Lions.

Sorry, I just think that he's going to continue playing to the game plan and nothing about this guy suggests anything but just get that win and do not take any chances.

we'll see this weekend - I just think he is so aware of how hard it is to win each game, that you need to just keep making sure that you don't take chances or make mistakes that could cost you.

I could see him struggling a bit against a big guy like CJ, like he did against Plaxico... and Springs is the one who realy shut down T.O although Carlos did make some nice plays in the second half... I don't think it's going to be enough to make a big difference in the game though...

- see, I dont think that the defense needs to be too aggressive to succeed this week - I think if they just play well and do not give up any big plays or any TDs that don't take a bunch of time off the clock, the defense will have done okay - not great but OK and that is fine with me.

If we win I do not care if Calvin Johnson ends up with 300 yards as long as we can see a good game overall from the defense.

Same with the offense - all I'm really concerned about in games like this is that we play welll and we win - playing well and losing to teams that we should beat is really not good for the next game. Playing badly is not an option

This is all Detroit is going to get!
