We all should be used to this by now - all we hear from the coaches and players is how important experience is - I think that this is only part of the equation - its not just experience per se its more experience handling the pressure of doing what you are (in most cases) paid a lot of money to do and with a group of players that you know are depending on you to to your job better that you have shown - there is a time when the focus is entirely on you in front of close to 90,000 fans and millions on TV - these young guys spend most of their time from the moment they are in high school, dreaming of becoming a player in the NFL and then it is like the dog that catches the car
We drafted 2 wideouts this year and both of them came into the NFL not ready to play - how amazing is that

You cannot blame Zorn for being so ticked - we are 6 games in and these guys are just begining to look like the prospects we need for our WR corps.
As Zorn said, Brooks was great on the practice field but he (Zorn) needs him to do that in a game when the pressure is unbelievable.
I hope he gets another chance here but I also hope that Plackemeier makes the most of this opportunity too

I remember a story I read once about a kicker out of college - the first time he went in to a NFL game to punt - the ball was snapped to him he caught it and felt the ground shaking as the opposing players were rushing him - I think he kicked the ball but he left the field and never played again.

I think coach Zorn mentioned this earlier, he said something about the two kickers being able to work on timing and precision in the place kicking game since all they do during practice is work on kicking so that rapport is built.
I think Suisham is doing a fantastic job this season but Brooks bobbled a snap and then, according to JZ "iced" his own PK by trying to get the ball from Albright when he didn't even have the ball. The last straw was the horrible job punting Brooks did. They had to let him go.

He hasn't been released... he's on IR. I suspect there'll be a competition next summer.

That was Ray Finkle in the Super Bowl.

Not that anyone cares but I've read the title of this thread several times now and about a third of the time, I see: "Redskins Sign Placekicker" and I have a millisecond "oh my god, what happened to Suisham?" reaction.

Frost sucked, get over it
true but he is better than Brooks, but to be honest I wouldn't give up on the new punter yet. I think he still has potential, but what they did with him was good, let him sit and work on his punting and see if he can do it next year, if not were looking for a new punter.

Yes, he ended up being let go and his current team is also exploring doing the very same thing
Are you sure about that? check this out, from Green Bay's own website.

Here is a quote "This season Green Bay ranks fourth in the NFL in opponents' punt return average at 5.8 yards"
Don't go making up stuff, show some proof.
Just to make sure he is there, here is the dept chart of the Packers

As a Redskin you were right about Frost, but as a Packer the stats don't support your statement about there trying to let Frost go. Show me an article and I will believe it, but I have a hard time believing that a punter thats ranks 4th in the NFL in punt return ydg. is on the verge of getting cut.

I don't think it's exactly going out on a limb to say that Frost hasn't performed all that spectacularly with the Packers. Yes, he might have some good numbers with opponents' punt return average, but that could also be a credit to how good the Packers punt coverage team is.
In fact, Frost is currently 26th (out of 32) in punting average -- 43.0 yards per punt. That's more than 3 yards better than Brooks, so he's done better than the rookie, but Frost isn't really dominating the punting world either.
One other thing: it's not much, but I did find an article mentioning the possibility of Frost being replaced in the near future.
If the Packers do not replace punter Derrick Frost between here and the bye week it would be a big surprise. He averaged 35.3 yards per attempt (net and gross) with two downed inside the 20, but he’s no weapon using rolls for yardage and one was a 26-yard punt fair caught at the 16.

The Packers have their bye week in Week 8 -- next week.
If Frost has a bad game against the Colts on Sunday, he could be gone.

So because you haven't heard something - the other person is making it up?

Couldn't it possibly just be that you hadn't heard something that others had - since the Packers actually held auditions for a new punter.
Here's an excerpt from a REDSKINS article with mention of it:
As poorly as Brooks has punted, finding a replacement during the season isn't easy. Ironically, the Green Bay Packers were holding auditions Monday to find a possible replacement for struggling veteran Derrick Frost — the very punter the Redskins cut in preseason to make room for Brooks.
http://www.hometownannapolis.com/cgi-bi ... _14-06/SPOAnd here's another about bringing in the punters...
The Packers on Monday worked out four punters, including former Bay Port High School and University of Wisconsin standout Ken DeBauche and former Pro Bowler Scott Player.
http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/app ... 06163/1058
Now, maybe the Packers just like to have punting auditions every Monday, but otherwise, I think its fairly safe to say that they're at least thinking about replacing Frost.
