I think the Redskins are in the top three, and the Giants are not.
I'm not sold on the Giants at all, and if they had to play us now, instead of the first game where we were just not quite ready for prime time (but still were within striking distance of a win), we would beat them.
I still believe (even though it's hard to admit) that when clicking on all cylinders, the Cowboys still have the strongest team....talent wise. So they get the nod at #1. The Redskins are #2, and the Giants #3.
IF.....the Redskins do not have a set back....and if they continue improving as they have thus far....then I think we are in the drivers seat, and will be the team to beat in the NFC.
Over the next three games, we should wind up 7-1. The Giants have 2 games they should win, but then they have the Steelers (@ Pitt) Cowboys @ home, and then Eagles (@ Phil). They could loose 2 or 3 of those games.
I remember reading somewhere (maybe TMQ?) that homefield advantage is much greater for primetime, Monday and Thursday games (specifically they were pointing out the homefield advantage of the Thanksgiving games, but I bet it holds for other non-standard days). So, given that this was (1) the season-opener (2) on a Thursday (3) in primetime (4) the night of the ring ceremony and (5) at a notoriously tough stadium for visiting teams (rumor is they open the doors at both ends of the stadium to cause swirling winds when opponents have possession), I'd say homefield advantage was pretty stacked against us!

That's the most important factor in football IMO. The skill of the player can vary (to a degree), but the cohesion cannot.
I agree. The best team always wins, not necessarily the best collection of players.

You're singing my song there JSP - I agree with you both, but I will also add that apart from playing really well together and having both our defensive coordinator and our head coach game planning and preparing their groups better than anyone in the NFL we have a number of players who are playing at a much higher level of intensity than we are used to - I will cite Portis and that 4th and 1 play BUT there are a lot of players on both sides of the ball that are leaving nothing on the field at the end of the game.
these guys are playing so well and having a lot of fun - apparently practices are intense - everyone is preparing for war each week
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
