It's funny how some people get so upset about other peoples oppinions on message boards. Some people are result orientated people. They can't just blindly walk into the fire. If several people have walked the path to only get burned then it would make people hesitate.
Us older folk on here have been privy to Gibbs-1 when we had the same coach for like 10 yrs. Through thick and thin. Then we had Norv "I can't get into the SB" Turner. Personally I liked him. I thought he did a good job but he was not the protect the football type of coach. He was more about results which never resulted. Under him the players wouldn't take it to the next step for some reason.
Then we had a batch of coach's that for what ever reason did not work out. Personality conflicts, lack of experience, old scheme. I just think alot of people after Gibbs-2 kinda thought "oh god here we go starting over again." Making people think this is going to be a work in progress for the next 3-5 yrs. Don't get me wrong the talent is here. I just wonder if it was being utilized in the best manner. Now I think it is being utilized in the best manner and we are seeing what this team can do.

Well, going back to last season, we've won 8 out of our last 10 games. That's a pretty good stretch.
We also lost a playoff game.
That was one of the two losses. In the regular season, we're 8-1 (last 4 2007, 4-1 2008).
Buffalo = 1
Seattle = 2
G-strings = 3

Yea, it's 8-11, but that's still dominant, oh, don't forget about a new coach, a new quarterback, learning a whole new offense and losing your d-coordinator during the middle of that stretch.
He still lives on in this team.

I don't think it discredits them, I'm not saying his ghost is on the field making plays. I think it's in their credit that they matured and grew from his passing. It takes maturity to be able to grow from that and not just be bitter and angry from it.
Moss and Portis always speak about how Sean's passing his altered their lives and it goes deeper than football. They talk about realizing that nothing is promised and time is short and that is being applied in their lives. Both Clinton and Moss worked harder this off-season than ever before. I believe it was partially due to everything that happened last year.
Of course his closest friends will reflect on him, but to the team as a whole, I don't see it as significant. It may be a factor, but I like to give Zorn a lot of that credit. This is still a different team from last year IMO. JC's change is the x-factor, and I attribute that to JZ. Without JC managing the game like he is for the first time this year, we surely wouldn't be 4-1, we'd more closer ot 2-3 or 1-4.
Isn't his locker still there, or did they remove it before the season? I thought it was still in the locker-room.

The nerv days were the darkest of my fan life. If I´m not mistaking, we lost every game against the cowgirls during his tenure.
I´ll take some of that crow cause I didn´t belived in JC. I´ll even admit I hadn´t liked him since he was drafted, so I´ll take seconds on that crow.

Yours and mine both ... re the Cowboys, I'm not going to look it up but I feel like that is correct ... although I know a number of those were close ... still

Thank god those days are over
PS I said this before, I'll repeat it now: San Diego will NOT win a Super Bowl with Norval running that show

According to the statement...he said 8 out of the last 10 games. That would include the Seattle Game. To include the Buffalo game would make it the last 11 games.
You're not correcting facts....you're creating new facts that were not present from the original statement.

Wrong again Ray! He said "What's our record since his death?" That record includes 3 losses, not two. That's the factual error I corrected.

No, Norv's Skins won a couple against Dallas. He did have an overall losing record to each or our division opponents (including the Cardinals

Y'know, now that I think about it, I did say (in pre-season blogs) that I thought the Redskins' weakspot this season was going to be their defense.
I felt we were going to be weak at corner and linebacker.
I felt that starting Carlos Rogers and Rocky McIntosh early in the season would be disasterous as they were both coming off horrific injuries to their knees.
My overall consensus of the team was that the defense would get a little worse and the offense would be a little better (this year compared to last).
Thankfully the defense seems to actually be a little better and the offense is greatly improved!
