Had I picked the Skins, I would have at LEAST had a shot at .500, instead of 6-8.
Lesson learned.
The lesson is that you have to pick against them EVERY week now.
True. True. True. I'm willing to sacrifice my Hognostications record, in exchange for a 15-1 record by picking against them the rest of the way.

Not sure what I was thinking by picking the Bungles to win. Pretty sure I won't be making that mistake too many more times this year. They looked horrible.
Fiji Hog is a freaking witch. Was he like this last year too?

A REDEEMEDSKIN poser is an oxymoron, no?
A hognostraitor never loses that distinction - that is who you are for the season
btw - just a hint - JansenFan did a lot better with the random pick method

I picked the Bungles too. Bad call on my part. I figured the Young thing would mess them up this week.
How the hell do you pick the Raiders and 49ers over anybody? missed those too.
Even with Brett Favre the Jets proved they can't win.
I figured Norval would bounce back this week, and he might have if not for Hock-a-loogie. (not that I'm terribly upset about anything that makes Norval angry)
And with as good as Atlanta looked in week 1, I figured they'd have no trouble over the Bucs.
I did however come closest to the combined Monday night score; not that it matters at 9-6!

Uh...they may have, if they had played them.
Falcons played the Bucs; GB beat the Lions.

Yeah, I caught that after I posted it.
They might as well be the same team as far as I'm concerned!

Any idea when the Monday night game will be processed, and we can see the final results?

Good! I might catch up with you then. Cle, Pitt and Dal win as -visiting- teams in my picks.

Not all the home teams, just most of them.

11-4, so far Missed ATL, CHI, NE, and IND.
Only JansenFan, with his random picks got the NE game correct.
JAX-IND could have gone either way.
I should have picked ATL; don't know what I was thinking.
TB-CHI was a poor call away from being correct.

Nonetheless, that was my upset special. I think I may have a chance to pull out the weekly top spot if SD can get the win vs the Jets tonight.

I think you won for the week (at 14-2), but I can't be sure, because the rankings aren't there, and the seasonal stats show this week's position as last week's as well (I know because I moved up from #6 to #4, but it shows everyone as being at the same position last week). You gained two games on me this week, and we have the same overall score now (you are in second by virtue of the tie-breaker). Fijihog gained one game on me this week, and holds on to the top spot, so he must have gone 13-3. Floyd missed five this week, but he is listed at number three, which doesn't make sense to me because I think Fijihog was alone at the top last week with a 1 game lead on the next five positions. I should have gained a game on Floyd this week but the standings don't bear that out.
Edit: In the pool history it shows Floyd as having 12 correct this week, but he missed CHI, CAR, NE, IND, and NYJ. The stats are not correct, so I don't know what's going on.
On an interesting side note, GSPODS is still hognosticating, so if you took the under, you're a winner.
Second Edit: I just refreshed this week's picksheet, and Floyd's IND pick changed to JAX. I'm assuming he changed that before the games, and the staff isn't padding his stats.

Yeah, JSPB22, I took this week. Lucky guesses. The TB game could have easily gone against me, but then again the Colts could've also pulled out that nail-biter against the Jags, so who knows? Still shocked about the Pats, but I will sacrifice my game pick for them to lose every single time lol.
Lot of season left. Anybody's ballgame.

Just a couple of quick things:
1) Make sure you hit the 'refresh' button when you're on one of the Hognostications page. unless you have your browser set to 'visit a site every time,' its VERY easy for your browser to be serving up the page from your computer's cache memory (and not neccessarily the latest version of the page)
2) Some people have been sending in their picks MULTIPLE times - please don't. I've had several people that have done it in consecutive weeks. I know that the deadline is Friday night, but if you submit your picks multiple times, don't expect that I'm going to keep changing them. One player last week submitted different picks five times. That's your prerogative, but please understand that I have a very finite amount of time to try and keep this pool maintained. Thx.
3) Please check the schedule for the cut-off time - we are receiving quite a few entries AFTER the scheduled cut-off - as I said earlier, please respect that the schedule is there for a reason. So that I can ensure that I have the time to maintain the pool accordingly.
4) While it might not ALWAYS happen, you should be able to see a list of the week's 'final selections' at 1:00pm game time on Sunday. Follow the guidelines laid out in bullet one, and you should be able to see what the player matrix looks like for that week. My goal will typically be to upload all of the pool data on the Saturday night or Sunday morning, hopefully Thursday afternoons for the weeks with early games.
Happy Hognosticating... and be sure to keep an eye on the
Hognostications blog section for all of the latest updates and articles.

BH, thanks for fixing the season standings so we can see the week to week improvement.

You don't have to. They sell pills for that kind of thing on the TV nowadays.

Of course, beware of Hognostications lasting more than four hours, especially if you're on heart meds.
