Absolutely true....that's what's so puzzling. First thing that came to my mind is that Vegas couldn't get anyone to bet on the the Saints. But does that seem possible?

But the line is therefore a direct reflection of the betting public's impression of who will win the game and by how much.

Given their performance last year and the year before that, I'd guess gamblers are a little gun shy when it comes to the Saints. I don't wager on games but if I did, I'd wait to put too much money on that team until I could be certain which version I was getting.
