out of all the NFL offenses, the west coast system may be his best chance. I didn't see many Hawaii games because of the start time on the east coast, but it did look like he was able to make quick decisions and get rid of the ball in rhythm. There is nothing wrong with developing a guy, the pukes did it.

What is his contract situation? I'd hate to see him go to another team and win SB's. I feel like Jason is going to be good for years to come but Colt has something special, first of all the kid is like a rock star, what he reminds me of is when I create myself in Madden and give myself all the skills but I'm just this skinny white dude. I even used the Visor. How many quarterbacks use the visor!? If he keeps playing this way it would be a shame not to give him a chance in the next couple years to compete for the starting spot. And what if Campbell looks bad this year? Where are we then?

ummmmmm he just got drafted this year. I'm pretty sure he's cool for another 3 years.

i doubt he'll get cut.who knows?he may get to evenplay some during the regular season.

Don't give up yet...he has two more games before we decide whether to make him our starter this year or cut him.

i like jason and hopes he keeps that job for years but i dont think brennan will ever be starting material. i do like him as our back up tho. he makes things happen. idk why the broadcast kept comparing him to favre. hes not even starting and hes not anything close to brett

Actually I'm mocking the people with no perspective. We have quite a few on the board.

Why aren't we starting Collins JC after he took us to the playoffs? Oh my God, we need to cut Collins he's not learning Zorn's O fast enough (before the FIRST PRE-SEASON game). You may have noticed that sort of thing with other players. We sign Betts to backup CP and that means we should fire sale him. Chose any WR. The list goes on. My favorite is Colt though, we either have to be comfortable starting a late round draft pick we signed to to develop THIS YEAR or we need to put him on the practice squad where other teams can swipe him and he can't be on the sidelines during games to learn. The lack of perspective is PROFOUND.

I'm not defending Brunell's play, but he kept a good attitude even when benched and never said a word against us I ever heard. He did get us into the playoffs and won one of the few we've won since Gibbs 1.0. He also gave us one of the greatest individual games of our lives torching the Cowboys with Moss TWICE, ka bam! Maybe we should let it go now and not keep taking shots at him.

Brennan does not remind me of Brett Favre...although BF didn't start when the Falcons put their heads into the Redskin chopping block in 1991. That is, I didn't see his rookie season.

And...it doesn't matter of Brennan reminds me of a young Sonny, or Starr, or Unitas...he just has to be good enough, and he looks to be better that just good enough.

So far...which isn't all that far...he looks like a good choice.

agreed brunell was never negative even when he was under fire from us. he gave us a good year and especially that cowboys game. i'll never forget that

Devine is here so we don't wear out our other quarterbacks arms in practice. If he wasn't here, the other 3 would have to take more reps throwing to other camp fodder.

brunnell was a class act.brennan is nowhere nearly as good today as brunnell is.give the guy credit for christ sakes!!!

Here is what I see. Colt Brennan - is a rookie and learning a new system just like JC and Collins are. But Brennan is also learning the speed of the NFL on top of it, and so far, has looked more impressive than JC or Collins, albeit against inferior defensive opponents. But that doesn't take away the fact that he's thrown some really sharp balls, and seems to be picking up the system quickly. He is still a rookie and rookie mistakes should be expected. So far, his mistakes have been minimal, and everyone should be excited about his knack for making things happen. Statistics don't win ballgames....points do...and so far, Brennan has one more TD than Campbell and Collins combined.

Todd Collins - looks like a career backup under the new system, as opposed to the surprise star that he showed last year. It's too early to make any harsh judgments, though if it were me, and I had to choose between Collins and Brennan, Brennan gets the nod at this point.

Jason Campbell - Looks like Jason Campbell. Sharp one series, and out of sync the next. Overall stats are decent, but fails to put points on the board (story of JC's career thus far, and entering his 4th year, that is not a good sign in my opinion). And the stats often lie. I see a large percentage of the completions are very short throws of under ten yards. His down field success is still in the poor category, as his ability to put up scores.

Conclusion: Barring injury, Campbell is the defacto starter at this point, and rightfully so. However, the question remains who is the backup, Collins or Brennan, and I'd be giving some snaps with the first team to Brennan over the next two preseason games to evaluate him. If he continues to shine, he moves up to # 2.

Campbell should be put on notice that NFL starting QB's remain starters by scoring points and winning games, period. This business of crowning Campbell undisputed king and starter for life is unjustified based on his lack of performance in the area most important....scoring points and winning games. He has a losing record as a starter and I haven't seen anything that indicates improvement in this area. It's time to stop talking about potential and start delivering the goods, otherwise, a change needs to be made.

And I wouldn't wait till game 8 of the 2008 season to notice that no wide receivers have caught a TD pass from Jason Campbell like we did in 2007. By that time the season will be over (based on out schedule this year).

If Campbell struggles over the next two preseason games, and into the first two or three regular season games, he should be benched, PERIOD. Enough for the Campbell experiment that's beginning to look a lot like Kyle Boller.

I expect JC to shine since he has a coaching regime with the gonads not to go run/run/pass 4 yards of the 1st down marker for 90% of the game. We also won't be trying to protect a 4 point lead with 10 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter of the game this year.

A little impatient are we, Ray?

For better or worse, this season the QB position belongs to Jason Campbell. I´m as sceptic as you are about his grasp of yet another offense in his short NFL carrer. Any way you cut it, he should at least be given the chance to see what he can do playing a COMPLETE season.

Next season (09) you can start the controversy if Campbell underperforms.

No way Brennan plays this year. The decisive factor is experience. Even if JC and Campbell go down, Zorn would sign a journeyman QB than to start Brennan if there are still meaningful games remaining. You don´t want to shock the kid by throwing him into the fire to early.
