SkinsFreak wrote:Chris Mortensen just reported on ESPN that these trade offers are not accurate. Mort said that Snyder has been in talks with Cincy at the owners meetings here in Florida. Mort said the Skins have offered a 1st and 3rd this year and our 1st round pick in 2009. So that's two 1st rounders and a 3rd for Chad. Mort also said Cincy's FO is now seriously considering the offer, regardless of the recent comments made by Lewis.
An argument could probably be made that April Fools jokes don't belong in HogWash but if they were posted in the Fantasy or Around The League forums, nobody would fall for them.
The latest rumor has Chad Johnson sitting out the 2008 season in protest. Marvin Lewis has stated that the Bengals organization will file a breach of contract lawsuit against Johnson should he not play the 2008 season. A breach of contract lawsuit would result in an arbitration settlement, after which Johnson would become a free agent.
Since this is what Johnson wanted in the first place, Lewis has privately admitted that the best thing to do would be to trade Johnson and receive some form of return value. He has therefore asked Johnson to commit some form of felony crime to ensure his value to the Dallas Cowboys organization, whose owner has shown only moderate interest in the relatively crime-free receiver.
