Folks, I may regret writing this, but I feel confident in saying Cowher will NEVER coach here, not as long as Snyder owns this team.

Kinda funny that Cowher's name comes up in a thread titled "how long for Zorn". It took Cowher 14 years to win a Super Bowl in Pittsburgh and all of a sudden he's the next coming. Yes, Cowher posted some decent seasons before that, but would Skins nation give Zorn or any coach that long?

THis will be very interesting. I will go with four years. I have a good feeling about this guy. He seems to have a enthusiasm about him, and that goes a long way.

Think about it fellas. How many coaches in this league still manage to have a smile on there face?

A smile is very telling. Zorn is always smiling. If you love what you are doing thats got to work in our favor. Half the coaches in the league look like they have an ulcer. Seriously. Zorn reminds me of young GIbbs. Young Gibbs had a look on his face like he had something up his sleeve. All with a deceiving but humble happy guy grin. He looked like a winner and was and is a winner. That is what I see in Zorn.

I see this team going 10 plus wins next year. Since Zorn is a Qb coach, I expect Campbell to develop nicely this upcoming season.

Yup 10 plus wins! :)

OMG....seriously..... Please stop. Really. Let's not even go down that road.

Zorn = God now?!?! If you can trust God, you must trust Zorn! What in the world..

I think it's pretty clear he is not making that analogy

Plus, everyone knows to get to the Father you must believe in his Son, anyway.

...and, I'm not even sure Zorn is married, let alone if he's had offspring. ;)

Oh the intimidation factor! I am sure that ALL of our NFC East opponents are already scarred and pissing in their pants because of the SMILE.

They surely are pissing in their pants but not because they are scarred. They are laughing their guts off in light of the hiring process.

I do not believe Snyder will fire Zorn unless he shows he has no abilities as a Head Coach - I am sure that he has that and therefore he will get an opportunity to show why these guys have so much faith in his coaching.

I think Zorn will be successful because I believe he will have these guys playing together. Teams that play together can sometimes overcome better teams as we saw with the Giants last 4 games. Each of those teams is still better than the Giants but the Giants ended up beating 4 teams that were playing a lot better than them because they played together better.

I just hope we can get the players we need to help this team continue the progress.

I think the players and the coaches are going to be very motivated to prove all the doubters wrong.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I keep reading this everywhere can we stop with the Gibbs comparisons. Gibbs oversaw one of the most prolific offenses in the NFL prior to becoming a head coach.

Seattle's offenses have not been too bad. Not the Air Coryell offense but still pretty good. Also running the west coast offense is more finesse and precision.

Ok I will reserve the Gibbs comparisons for now. He still has a long way to go. So I will anxiously wait.

dude, I think you have right to compare Zorn to Gibbs. You are not comparing Zorn to Gibbs the final project, just Gibbs wehn he got the job.
Most of the people here are look for something to speak negatively about. I for one hope the guys does well. If not we will be going through this again. I would hate to read all of the negative comments again.

This is a baseless, shot in the dark comparison that you could make a any NUMBER of head coaches this year with no experience. We haven't even seen anything that he can do yet beyond a QB coach, and you're already comparing him to JG? :puke:

I personally like Zorn's demeanor. The thing that impressed me most was that he didn't come in barking about, "I'm doing this," or "we're changing that." He came in saying I came from a playoff team, this is a playoff team. We're in a good position and we should expand on that, not scrub it and start over. THAT'S a true man of wisdom IMO. He KNOWS we've got a good thing here and he has the possibilty to make it GREAT!

I hope that we, as fans, can push him to stay for at least 4 years. We have to have patience, because Snyder feeds off what we do. Every decision (for the most part) that he has made, has been what the vast majority of fans have wanted IMO. He brought in all those high priced free agents and we approved. I think he brought in Schottenheimer (sp?) because we wanted an experienced head coach. Spurrier was hired because I think most of us thought it was going to be lights out for the rest of the league. Gibbs, enough said. Several of Gibb's coaches were kept on board because we wanted continuity. Fassell was not hired because of the backlash. I think there is a pattern here.

Skins fans have got to unite around this guy and give him some time. Snyder will have patience if we do. I think this guy could be GREAT if given some time to learn. There will be a 2 year learning curve, so if we can ride this out for two years, expect great things. Help us Obi Zorn Kanobi, you're our only hope!

how long? this is not not about anything else  analysis is not required - 1, 2 3 or 4 is all  give it your your best shot  not going to matter much, somebody just wants to know how long

My comparison is based on Gibbs first being hired by JKG.

At the time Joe Gibbs had never been a head coach. He did however have experience as an assistant coach under John Mckay and Don Coryell. He was the offensive coordiantor twice, once under Mckay for the Tampa Bay Bucs and then under Coryell with the Chargers.

I never compared Zorns accomplishments to Gibbs.

I only compared Gibbs first hiring to Zorn being hired.

My comparisons are trying to shed light on a renewed hope.

I am saying that I believe that you can accomplish anything if you put your mind to it.

Why??
Well I believe Zorn is hungry and has the passion to succeed.

He is a new comer , the new comers have yet to climb the mountain.
