Rushing TDs... not in top 25 either..
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/alltime/leaders?cat=carrushtd

Currently has 63 TDs total. and 20th all time is at 77. Had he not missed a season he would be close.

The link you posted only has the top 20 not top 25.

CP Is tied for 2nd for most TD's as a rookie with 15.

In one game I remember them putting up a stat that showed he was also in the top 5 in rushing yards in his first 5 seasons, but NFL.com don't show these stats.

And he has 7,715 total yards. 20th on the list has 9,407.

There are only 4 active players on that top all-time list. meaning CP will be in the top 20 before he retires. Maybe top 10, who knows. He only needs 4,447 yards. Thats only 1111 yards a year for 4 more years.

Some might say he is injury prone. But I disagree, with that he completed this season not hurt. I wouldn't call a guy thats had one hurt season from injury out of 6 seasons. Maybe if he missed our last 3 games I would agree but he didn't get hurt.

So, I do think he is an elite back. Who will finish his career at least in the top 15 backs of all time.

Wouldn't trade him either...but 10th all time in TDs?

What are you smoking?

10th is tied between Franco Harris and Jerome Bettis with 91 Rushing TDs.

Portis is 33rd with 63 Rushing TDs.

Big difference...

Hey Pulp, where did you find a list?

When I googled it, I can only find lists of the top 20. I would like to see a list of the top 50 or so.

Yup, pro-football-reference has basically every NFL related statistic.

Still curious as to where P2S gets his 10th all-time statistic from.

Portis is an awesome back, and anyone who seriously thinks we should trade someone who is a lock to get between 1200-1500 yards rushing and 8-12 TDs a year...is crazy. Seriously crazy.

Thanks for the link guys. I added a favorite, I'll never remeber it if I didn't.

Giants fans didn't want to lose Tiki either and look what happened...

No player is that important to a team.

Sorry, I don't agree with that. Tiki was becoming a pain in the locker room and was calling out Eli and Coughlin in the press. Portis is a player and fan favorite, a leader in the locker room and has earned respect from the entire organization.

I'm sorry, but I disagree - Tiki's leaving had absolutely nothing to do with the losses by the 4 teams the Giants played in the playoffs.

The Giants are not a better team without Barber on the field - they are better off without him, off the field, there is a difference. Barber and most of the other players, in my opinion, did not like Coughlin and his coaching. Barber decided to take the TV route and quit - that was his deal. He was also becoming a bit of a problem off the field and I'm sure the "team" felt they would be better off without him.

Portis is a team leader here and has so far seemed to indicate he wants to be a part of this team. Leaders on the field and in the locker room are important to this team. Especially now.

I agree Skinsjock. Portis is very important to this team not only as a player, but a leader. We tend to forget that he had 1,262yds rushing and 11 TD's. Lets not forget to mention his blocking skills. We need Portis and that my friends is the bottom line.

The fact that this thread is still alive reflects poorly on a lot of people (hint: the trade him crowd, specifically)
