It would have been very difficult for a new head coach to come into the organisation with a head coach defence in place. That head coach defence also was a candidate for your job and seemed to have the backing of the players. When he wasnt hired to the head coach of head coached role Williams had to go.

that is what i have in mind too.the head coach in waiting is telling dan who he wants from this staff.

How can people think Dan Snyder is just blindly hiring assistants, of course the nest head coach is helping to pull the strings on these moves.
I really can see Steve Spagnulo as the next head coach. Why wait unitl after the super bowl.

Assuming the hiring of SS is in the works, it would only be respectful to avoid distractions to the Giants run.
I suspect there is something else afoot, though.

What a complete disaster. I'm going to rail for a bit longer, until the head lackey is named, and then I'm going to box up 42 years worth of Skins memories and send them to Snyder. He's killed my favorite thing in the world. And I don't care if he puts together a winning team. Supporting a sports franchise is about much more than simply wins and losses. I would be ashamed to wear a redskins jersey now. It says that I support liars, weasels, and sharks - because the redskins are no longer about anything but Snyder and Vinny - they are the franchise. No wonder Gibbs looked ten years younger at his recent NASCAR news conference - he was working with two of the least likable, selfish, little twerps imaginable. Now the Redskins are truly the Snyderskins. Think the head coach will be anything more than his b**ch? I hate this, hate this, hate this. My team is dead.

While I probably won't go as far as never watching them again, I completely feel as you do. This is some kind of twisted joke right? How long do we as Skins' fans have to put up with this nonsense... WOW... I still can't believe it. I don't want to believe it but dang if it isn't true.

This is a really terrible way to operate and direct our team and this organization. I feel sick
I began the day with some trepidation but still hopeful things were being misconstrued by the media as usual. I wont say the media were right - they were very wrong on a lot of things - BUT these 2 bozos deserve everything they get

I am done hoping for some improvement - this is truly embarrassing for all of us.
It is kind of amusing to see people now saying - "well the new HC is calling the shots and he must want these assistants in place

How can anyone think that anything as obvious as that is happening with these 2 idiots in charge -
they have not done anything sensible since Gibbs retired - how can you possibly think they are doing anything that makes any sense
I think they are waiting for the draft

That way they will be able to pick a new HC that suits the players that they have acquired though both free agency and the draft

Now that makes sense

What I meant was that, that is the reason why we are waiting unitl after the superbowl to name a head coach. It was badly stated by myself I may add.

Is it a 100% positive Gregg Williams is not the guy? Would it not make sense to go ahead and release Gregg as DC so you could do Blache's new contract, then after the SB do Gregg's? Until I see another man step to that podium, I have to believe ownership is not that stupid and KNOWS what they have in Williams, the guy is a great great coach were we not a top 5 D this year? If it weren't for AA we would've been in 06. Gregg Williams is the no brainer choice you've got every player on the team begging for him! You've got a rookie safety who has a chance to be great, and all these years Gregg has learned from almighty Gibbs. If we do not name Gregg Williams as our HC I will be shocked. Just because ESPN says a guy is not a candidate doesn't mean squat, just because the compost says he's not a candidate doesn't mean jack. I have not heard one word out of Snyder Vinny or Larry Michael that would suggest anything other than Gregg is still the odds on favorite to get the job. I think they just don't want to announce until after the SB and they wanted to put the staff together (at Gregg's discretion) signing Blache as DC which would require letting GW out of his contract.

Something happened between Snyder and Williams, either that or Snyder knows something about him that we don't and he is keeping it private.

To be honest, Blache is not a bad coach and at least defensively we will run the same system I would imagine. The question I ask is why? why was this all needed? Thanks Snyder for setting us back again.
Blache may not be a bad coach, but he isn't on the level of a Gregg Williams or a Rex Ryan. Blache was the defensive coordinator for the Bears from 1999-2003. Here are where his defenses ranked among NFL teams in yards per game.
1999 - 29th
2000 - 16th
2001 - 15th
2002 - 25th
2003 - 14th
From 2004 to 2007 he has been our "defensive coordinator" in name only and was really our defensive line coach. Well I can't say that I am all that impressed with someone that has been in charge of our defensive line. In his time working with the line we have ranked 18th, 32nd, 20th, and 9th in the NFL in sacks. Obviously he can't take all the blame for the low sack totals, but our defensive line has been mediocre at best and has been unable to generate a consistent pass without blitzing.

Well... So much for continuity and building on a good solid foundation.

Here we go again. Looks like we will never have any continuity , Except of course the Danny and the Vinny . Damn it , that really stings
