We underestimated one key to last game.
Stop Mercury Morris-lite.

This is my favorite quote "I think the team that scores the most points will win." - John Madden... So that means the key will be to score more points.

I've got to agree: Move the chains!
We've got to get yards from Portis, mix in some play-action and keep the clock ticking. That quiets the crowd and ratchets up the pressure on the Seattle offense -- making the Skins' D all that more effective.

Our Bigs vs their Bigs. Its going to come down to which team gets pressure more on the qb. We need protection.

Patrick Kerney will sack Collins atleast 4 times since he is going up against Stephon Heyer.

Turn overs!
If the Skins don't give up the ball, I can't see anyway the Chawks will win.
I mean CP is going to get his 100 yards, as will Moss, and maybe even

ey.
The D will be fine, athough they will give up a late TD to give us a scare, but Collins will execute a game clinching 4th drive. And Landry will take a pick to the house to finish off a 31-10 win.

If Kerney gets 4 sacks, it will be against Heyer AND Portis. Or Heyer AND Betts. Or Heyer AND Alexander. Or Heyer AND

ey. No way they're going to leave Heyer alone out there. They'll swing protection his way, and leave Samuels by himself.

What has this guy done to convince you that he will get 4 sacks in this game? Statistically (14.5 sacks) he has had a very good season but stats are often mis-leading! 9 of those sacks came in 3 games - 2 games at home against Chicago and Arizona and 1 at St Louis. These lines did not have a very good time protecting their QB and we have had decent success protecting Collins. This guy hasn't had 4 sacks in a game and suddenly he is going up against Heyer (who will undoubtedly have help) and you think he is going to get 4 sacks?
Maybe he's a part of your family or you would like him to be

I believe that the keys to the game will be a balanced offense and an aggressive defense with pressure on Hasselbeck.
If we get a good number of yards (around 5) consistently in 1st down, the options open up.
Alexander will not get anything but Hasselbeck could still hurt us if he gets time.

Alexander is a shell of his former self and the skins should be able to shut him down like they have been doing for the last month. Hasslebeck is a little banged up so constant in his face pressure will be a must but not at the risk of leaving to much one on one coverage in the secondary. They like to pass and we need to find a way to get pressure and still drop some LB's back in coverage. I think it will come down to special teams and field position especially if its rainy like it usually is in Seattle. Other than that i think we match up pretty well with Seagulls and should we hold on to the ball i think we will be fine.

There are many keys to this game, but points (as always) will determine the winner. Generally, and especially at playoff time, the teams that have the upper hand are usually the ones with the better QB. Manning and Brady anyone? Look at the Pack this year.....you think the Pack would be where they are without Favre playing the way he has? Or the Cowboys and Romo?
No better example of how important a QB is than to look at the Ravens. With their oustanding and year to year consistently outstanding defense, all they have been missing is a great QB. Had Baltimore had a Tom Brady, and the Pats had Boller, I think football history for the past few years would be quite different.
That's why I pray that Cinderella doesn't turn into a pumpkin in Seattle.....(as in getting squashed in the pocket). I think we have the edge on defense. We have a better run game, and better play makers in the passing game. The the only danger we face is letting Hasselbeck get hot. He is carrying this team, and having one of his better years. If Collins continues to shine, and we can keep Hasselbeck in check, we win this game easily. PASS PROTECTION on offense, and PRESSURE on defense!!!!
I think we win this game by 10 or better.

I think we have a good chance at winning this game based solely on the fact that in my opinion if both teams play well with no mistakes our team matches up better. They are a good but not great team this year and losing Hutchinson (2006) took away Alexander's running game better than any defensive co-ordinator could.
We have the better offensive and defensive game planners and that will decide the game by making the other team adjust - teams generally win when they are able to execute their game plan without having to try and make too many adjustments to what the other team is doing AND more importantly, what you have been practicing all week.
We have too many weapons that are playing well together on both the offense and defense.
Both of these QBs are good not great. Great QBs and great players can lift their teams.
Good QBs do not determine who wins by their play alone - games are won and lost by teams playing well together in all phases of the game.
looks like being a rainy and somewhat windy afternoon there - our D and our offense just need to play at the same consistent level that they have been showing recently
HAIL

Good enough play from our corners to take away Hasselbeck's first option which will, in turn, give the rush a chance to get there.

I don't got nothing against Stephon.. Stephon is undrafted and people on this board are overrating him and some are saying he should replace Jon Jansen next year LMAO. When I made that comment I was just being realistic and putting Homerism aside. (something some people can't do)

Todd Collins has not been Protected well like you are putting it he's been sacked 7 times in 3 games. If he were to start for a whole season and get sacked at the rate of 7 sacks in 3 games he would get sacked 35-37 times in a year. I don't know what good protection means to you...

Noone taking snaps for the Redskins this year has been protected, but i think Collins sack numbers are less on the O-line and more on the fact that he is a sitting duck back there because of his lack of mobility (which by the way has also helped him to find a last second option to throw to which is sometimes better than jason's scrambling- SOMETIMES is the key word though)

You're close but you left out a few things. Collins has played more than 3 games. It's been over 3 and a half. It's been over 14 quarters. That translates to more like 30 sacks over 16 games. Also, he was going up against the Bears, Giants, Vikings, and Cowboys. These teams do a lot of sacking. (I know Kerney does too). Heyer himself has given up very few and handled Umenyiora and Ware pretty well with little or no help.
If you're going with 4 sacks against Heyer, I'll take the under.

I just still do not know how a guy who has 9 sacks in 3 games and 14.5 all season is suddenly going to have 4 against a Bugel coached offensive line - in all the other games, the most he got was 1

sorry! he got 1.5 in 1 game and 1 each in 4 others - this guy is scary

now you feel he is going to get 4 sacks this Saturday?
how many Bugel coached offensive lines have you seen play in the playoffs and when did any one player get 3 sacks against one of those offensive lines?
get back to me - I am waiting to hear an explanation

Taylor, Cole and Ware all go up against Chris Samuels because they are all RIGHT DEFENSIVE ENDS!

I said Ware, Umenyoria, etal. mistakenly. I was looking at a graphic as if I were standing behind the offense. Heyer went up against Harris (8 sacks), Strahan (9 sacks), Udeze (5 sacks), and the Spear/Hatcher/Ratliff rotation (7 sacks). He had little or no help and I don't recall very many sacks surrendered by Heyer (if any - anybody got that stat?).
I'll still take the under on 4 sacks given up by Heyer this Saturday. In fact, make it 2.5 and I'll still take the under.
