The pukes lost this game despite the fact that they had one of the best receiving corps in the game right now and even though the Giants had to cover TO with a guy that couldn't cover a decent receiver on his best day - the Giants won because they played better as a team and with a lot less talent - this game was not lost because of Romo, it was lost because the Giants defense caused the huge puke offensive players to play terribly and they could not give Romo the time he needed.
the pukes lost this game because of a lot of silly penalties and not playing well together
I love it when fans blame the QB for not winning - a QB cannot do anything if the players around him do not play as a team - Romo is a much better QB than manning but the Giants refused to lose - when a group of players play together like that they can just about beat anyone - we should know, we saw it here in the last 4 games of this season.
I'm hoping for a better team next season not a bunch of all-stars - we need better team players and we have a lot of them already.

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

The Giants are not looking so stupid now, are they?
Had the Giants not played there starters against the Patriots, I bet they would have lost against the Cowboys.
The confidence the Giants have built up and was solidified against the Patriots. They built momentum and are now rolling in the playoffs. It is likely they lose to the Packers though.

Um... They're now headed to Green Bay after Dallas and Tampa with key injuries and without a week off for key guys. I never said "they will lose right away because of this." I said as they went deeper and deeper they would pay for not resting key guys more and more. Right, my key was now they have to play THREE games on the road. H-E-L-L-O! They have played TWO! I clearly have not been proven wrong as they have THE KEY GAME TO GO and my point was it would hurt them more every week! Let's see how they do in Green Bay before you declare yourself the winner. Particularly since you haven't been proven right either.
Here's my quote:
Kaz wrote:Every week through the NFC playoffs that will hurt them more and more
In what way has that been proven wrong? Show me where I said they didn't have a chance to win? On the contrary I made the point for the Skins the NFC is weak and they COULD go a long way. Clearly that applies to the Giants to, whom I've never said are a bad team.

NE and Green Bay both had weeks off. If you mean they played out the 16th game back to my original point they didn't need to play the next weekend and the Gnats did. So this is true but not pertinent to the discussion.

Re: The Giants are SO stupid
I suppose the only thing that would PROVE you wrong is the Giants winning the Super Bowl. You could probably even "word parse" your way out of being proven wrong then. Will you admit wrongness if they beat Green Bay ... or will you say they would have won by more and therefore you still have not been proven wrong?
BTW - you also said this:
Do you know what they were thinking now?
Maybe something like this: The trade off of staying sharp and gaining momentum is worth the risk of injury. A possible benefit is more wins as opposed to a loss.
You would probably say they have won in spite of their stupidity in the NE game and that is fine. But realize why some of us say they may have won twice more because of their smart decision to play everyone in that game. The evidence is on our side.
Tampa rested for pretty much 3 weeks without a bye. The Colts had a bye but sat a lot of guys for over a half in their last game. The evidence seems to be mounting in favor of staying sharp and trying to win unless someone like your QB is getting clobbered a lot while trying (see Welch's Mark the Ripper reference).
Also note that a loss at Green Bay will not have proven you right!!!
The Giants were underdogs in both their playoff wins. No one has been or will be proven right but the evidence is definitely against you and that won't change with a Giant loss at Green Bay in the underdog role again.

Same for "proving" me right. The only way to prove I was right or wrong would be to fork time and let them play it out both ways. Since that isn't going to happen what "would" have happened in what they don't do is conjecture. But I was clear in saying that the deeper they went the more it would hurt them and we are only now approaching "deep."
So I will give you this. Win or lose I won't say I'm "right" or "wrong" in terms of resting their players for the reason there is in fact no possible proof either way. If they fall on their faces in Green Bay I will THINK I was right. If they play well in Green Bay win or lose I will admit that Coughlin is in fact not stupid, even though I still think he should have rested his players in week 16.

The giants won! Big deal - they played better than the pukes! Big deal - The giants found a way to beat the pukes - they are still not a better team than the pukes - next year they will still be regarded as a team with a chance to make the playoffs because they are just not that good, primarily because they selected this stupid QB abd they will still have this idiot coach.
The giants are still stupid, and they are not going to be able to find a way to win this game against the Packers - unlike the last 2 teams this team is ready for some football.
Anyone who thinks one of their best pass rushers was not on the field at the end because he was not tired is kidding themselves.
The good news to me is that they now will keep their idiot coach and their stupid QB - they both deserve each other and the mediocrity this team will be in - nobody has to point out their record in the season or the playoffs, they are still the 4th best team in the NFC East.

Fair enough. If they do in fact, go all the way it would be interesting to know how you feel then. Same for their coach.

Golly gee, I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that you have MORE than TEN TIMES our population base.

But hey, having 270,000,000 MORE people to choose from couldn't possibly make a difference...
What could sound more empty than belly-aching about an entire country just because the course of the playoffs has proven what a ridiculous assertion you made, and having it laid out for you. Talk about a weak soapbox to stand on...
And it isn't Canada's fault that you were just flat out incorrect...
... but you go ahead and pick that scab... it really won't change the fact that Coughlin and the Giants are in the Super Bowl and they didn't need to do it the KazooWay. Whether you care to admit it or not... they did it the RIGHT way... because they made it all the way to the big show. What else matters? Impressing Kazoo?

thanks, but I never bet on sports - Maryland beat N.C this weekend - anything is possible!!

Now that that is out there let me also say that in my opinion this great achievement by the giants shows me that we are not that far off

At the end of the season I think our team was playing at a level that indicated that we have come a long way back to being as competitive a team as there is in the NFL - we beat 4 teams at the end of the season that can be used to re-inforce that estimation:
The Bears were last year's NFC Champs
The giants in the Meadowlands has never been easy but we handed it to them
The Vikings and their incredible running game PLUS their #1 (in the NFL) defense against the run
The pukes and the NFC #1 ranked team - still are in my book BUT they are not in the Super Bowl

So, while some can say we have a long way to go - I disagree - I think one of the reasons that Gibbs decided he could leave the team was because he could tell we are almost there and we will continue to be a better team.
Congratulations to the giants, well done, but next year you will still not be as good a team as the Redskins AND you will still have (hopefully) that idiot coach and that stupid QB.

America politically, economically and militarily dominates a world 20 times larger then we are. Canada's best and brightest move to America where they are secure in their ability to complete. The rest are happy wallowing in a little socialist enclave as long as their crappy healthcare is provided for "free" by politicians and they can look down their noses taking stupid jealous, resent filled little pot shots at Americans.
Sadly Canadians are so low on class chanting "Osama" at sporting events or not criticizing those who do is not above them. America may have 10 times the population, but Canada has 10 times the pathetic.
I'd like to hear what in Canada probably passes as an intelligent retort, say something like "blah blah?" When Canadians don't say that it's what they are saying sounds like anyway. Funny how our representative national colors are the same. America's is green for wealth. Canada's is green for envy.

I see, so when you do it it's having a "hell of a lot of fun" and when I do it it's a "temper tantrum." Got it.

You could be a little more secure then to need to not only have others on your side but to assume it's so and even speak for them declaring it so. I speak for myself.
