I'll be attending tonight's NO-ATL game, where I'll be rooting the Falcons on to glorious victory.

Right.

It's also ridiculous we're talking playoffs, because this team (right now) isn't good at all.

I wonder how good the Redskins would have been this year, had we not all these injuries and the Sean Taylor murder.

I'm with you there. There's a part of me that wonders about the heresy that exists in not wanting to make the playoffs. I don't want the upper-most management getting even the hint of the idea that they have this whole NFL thing figured out.

Dude that's sweet, have a great time at the game man!!!

If I was there I'd be yelling "Free Mike Vick" all night long. I'm sure it would catch on with the year they're having. (Which some could argue is Mike's fault) In all fairness to myself, I don't care for pit bulls so don't jump on me. LOL

I wonder if the NFL will have any sort of 'strong suggestion' that Dallas field a competitive team, if only in fairness to the other teams that might be alive with the Redskins for that last playoff spot?

I ask because we've seen how much the league has harped on things like competitive equity and if the Redskins get to play the Dallas JV, that might not be all that fair to the Saints who would be playing Chicago in Week 17.

But then again, Dallas has no obligation to anyone but themselves .. if they've got everything locked up as the #1 seed, why shouldn't they take advantage of giving some key guys an extra week off?

If roles were reversed, and we were the #1 going into the playoffs, I would be pissed if we played anything less than our starters against Dallas. Beating them is second to a SB win IMHO. I don't think they will play their 2nd string until they have a comfortable lead.

Remeber our last game at RFK? We were out, they were in, and they played all the second string.

It only takes one funky hit to injure a quarterback, as we saw with Campbell and Grossman last week. No way Dallas plays Romo for more than a half.

I agree with you guys on the injury concern.
But what about having momentum going into the playoffs.

Dominating the NFC isn't enough momentum to actually give away a game knowingly? Which would be worse: to lose by giving it away by playing 2nd stringers or, to flat out lose with your starters?

The way this team has played this seaon, they dont deserve to go to the playoffs.

If they happen to get in? What are the chances they win the SuperBowl?

The way I see it is I rather have them not go to the playoffs if they arent going to win the SuperBowl.

We have our starting quarterback hurt and a number of key players who are injured. We also lost our best player.

If they win out then hey thats fine with me.

In the bigger scope of things we need to get the best possible position in the draft. I only want whats best for this team. The current squad will only get smashed by the Patriots if we are even lucky enough to get to the SuperBowl.

I want this team to have a good draft position going into the draft. From there we draft some key players to not only contend but maybe dominate next year.

The Loss of Taylor left a big hole in the secondary , which teams will exploit.

So like it or not. I want our team to lose the rest of the games and have the current teams who are at 5 wins to win out, therefore we can have a better draft position. We need to get into the top ten in the draft at least.

The only reason I would want our team to go to the playoffs is to honor Sean Taylor. Other than that I see no reason this team deserves to go to the playoffs.

Has this team even strung together two wins in a row? Be real folks.
This team is going no where. Its better we get real and put our selves in the best possible position for next year.

Without Sean Taylor we can lose to dallas' JV. If Griese can go for 256 Brad Johnson could torch us, hopefully not.

Ug I forgot it's Brad Johnson. He (rightfully) has a bone to pick with the Skins...and I think he loves to torch us when we play him.

Ill put it this way. If we get into the playoffs , I will root my butt off for them.
If we dont make it, well then this season has already been one of the worst. The heartache hit early in the season then the loss of ST.

So how much worse can it get? On more positive notes it should help the teams morale going into next season. Also what better way to honor St then by playing the butts off.

The main concern of mine, is that we seem to get out coached when facing teams of similar talent. Our players give the effort, its just bonehead calls in the most critical times of the game. Not to mention the injuries this team has.

It just breaks the heart of Redskins faithful , when the coaches seem to give away the game. Lack of adjustments, poor clock management, lack of killer instinct. All this with an under manned roster.

So fight on Redskins. I hope I am proven wrong.

I am not the only one. A -few- other posters have made sense lately too. But when a trend of bad news, assessments and terrible predictions is sytematically made by other posters, I thought it would be nice to highlight the positive posts, or the positive parts of these posts at least.

This is likely to be a LOOOOONG offseason if things do not improve a liitle on the field and on the board.

I managed to think up a couple positive scenerios.

What if we happen to get into the playoffs as the wild card?

We may be able to ruin the Cowboys chance of a SuperBowl? That would make me very very happy. Its a long shot but possible.

Currently the Cowboys have the number one seed. The Packers have the number two seed all but locked up.

We would have to get in as the number 5 seed. Which means we first have to win the first wild card game. While Dallas has a bye, the following week we would play Dallas.

The Giants have to lose the rest of there games. Then the Skins have to win out and win the tiebreaker between us and the Giants. Also the Saints and Cardinals have to lose at least one more game.

I just want to win the next game - I want to win a game that hopefully shows Coughlin and Manning up for who they really are - a pair of losers
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Just so you know, that's pretty much entirely wrong, on multiple levels.
