I don't think our fans are "pathetic". The atmosphere at Fed Ex is not the greatest, but keep it in perspective. The team was in the middle of a four game losing streak, the team had just lost a fan favorite player.

My only gripe about the atmosphere in DC is that because DC is a diverse city which draws people from all over, we tend to have an unusual amount of fans from the other team at the game. So while the stadium may hold 90 thousand, 1/3 of them are cheering for the other team.

I don't want to make excuses, but I live here and go to games, and I see our fans show up winning or not, now the loudness issue is another story, but its not just the fans...you gotta have something to cheer about on a consistent basis if you want a raucous atmosphere. I got to the stadium around 430pm and tailgated in the 24 degree weather for 4 hours. And we weren't alone.

Trust me, if the Skins win the next 2 games, and are essentially playing the Cowboys for a chance to go to the playoffs...I guarantee the fans will be ridiculously loud. The "We want Dallas" chants will be out in full force if that game takes on that magnitude.

I don't think anyone can legitimately question the passion of the Redskins fans, we are some of the most excitable, sometimes delusional fanatics on earth. Dare I say that a few of us, myself included, actually believe we will win our next three games. Dare I say that a few of us, myself included, thinks we can beat the Packers and Cowboys based on how we played them this year, thus we could go to the Superbowl if we make the playoffs. If thats not fanatical, then what is.

Why would anyone go to a game and sit inside to watch? The beers at that place are 10 bucks!!! What a rip-off. Most stadiums they cost 5.75. Not to mention the 20 minutes I stood in line for the bathroom.

Maybe I'm answering my own question about why the seats are not filled.

Sounds like you were just MISERABLE...maybe you shouldn't come back anymore if it was that bad of an experience for you...the fans, the beer, the bathroom, the towels which everyone wanted to keep nice as a keepsake (but I did have mine but will not on 12/30 - because I want to keep it nice)... just sounds like you were miserable. Sorry you don't enjoy the Skins games.

I enjoyed the game on the field...loved it in fact. I'm a die hard fan.

I was disappointed in the stadium and the fans. I take it that you find paying 10 bucks for beers, sitting in line for the bathroom for 20 minutes, not cheering during crucial goal line stands, and/or sitting inside the club level on a couch to watch the game to be an acceptable thing for fans to do?

If fans want to keep the towel as a keepsake, buy another. They're 3.99.

I didn't get to go to a game at RFK until the 1982 playoff game against the Vikings. I was only 12 at the time, but that game will always stay fresh in my mind. I went to several more after that at RFK and Fedex, but never got that same feeling. Maybe we are trying to hold the new stadium to standards that are too high. Maybe the mediocrity of the team would even have RFK silent. To be honest, I don't like Fedex. It is a big wide open piece of crap. At RFK you were right on top of the action. It made you feel like you were part of the action. I just don't get the same feeling at Fedex.

I think we're as much to blame in this than the team. They feed off our energy.

Even last week vs the Bills the announcers mentioned how quiet the fans were in the fouth quarter. I blame that game on the fans. Not the playcalling, not the death of ST, not the players, but us (or anyone at the game). How can we have so much emotion and not come away with a win. A must win game. The fans added nothing. Pathetic I say. If you were at that game you should be ashamed. And I bet it's the same people on here that are calling for Gibbs head that were at that game, sitting on there hands and being overly negative.

A really wierd opinion! Professional football players shouldn't be expected to stay motivated unless they can feed off our energy! If true--incredible.

Sounds to me like some people are just not happy unless they are complaining but what do I know...

The towels that I saw for sale were not the "same" towels we got on Sunday at the Buffalo game AND why didn't YOU buy one instead of using a stolen washcloth from the hotel?

I don't drink beer....or wait in line for the bathroom...maybe because I don't drink beer ... but if you go to any football game these are things that you have to contend with. Our section is pretty much always energetic - can't control the rest of the stadium.

I'm not one to argue - especially on the board - but I AM one of the Fans at Fed Ex at EVERY GAME and I do not appreciate being called PATHETIC by someone who's ticked off because they paid 10.00 for a beer and waited in line to go to the bathroom. So that being said...you can respond to this post as you have with every post but I will not answer...my suggestion to you....DON'T GO TO THE GAMES ANYMORE.

Yes, "The Pursuer of Justice" and "The Redeemed One" were keeping section 5 alive and well. We cheered for anyone Skins related, the flag bearers, the on-field security, the Cheerleaders, the players, and even the people in front of us tokeep them chanting!!

Might I also point out that the Bears went on a scoring surge once TPOJ and TRO left our seats to stroll throught the COLD....er CLUB Level.

Coincidence? I think not. See y'all at the Cowboys game!!

amen to RFK stadium..now that was an atmosphere and our history speaks for that old wrinkled up stadium. man i just keep looking at my picture on the wall in my room of RFK and i say what memories and the fans would be heard from too and the other teams knew it too....

fedex was good for my experience but it aint no RFK thats for sure...

I don't know what you experienced brutha but I was up in 449 in the mile high section and we ALL were energetic. So energetic in fact, we had to tell people to keep it down when the offense was on the field because they were so dag gone excited. LOL.. We got on the Bear fans around us that were talking trash too. About the beer thing, well we've addressed that before but we all get crap faced before the game anyways so at most maybe we'd buy like 2 or 3 beers inside. Sure its expensive but what ya gonna do ya know? I'll tell you this much, as drunk as I was, those 2 hotdogs I ate were the best ones I had in my life!!! LOL I don't know how you can say we were pathetic because I thought the place was extremely loud when the Skins were on defense. Oh, I had my ST towel waiving like a mad man and another thing, I wish someone would tell me to sit down while we were on defense, they'd have to kick me out.

Hey SkinsChic.. on the Skins website in the shopping section, they are selling the ones they handed out at the Bills game and they also are selling another one they made. IMO the ones we got at the Bills game are better.

I can't believe people are still crying about RFK stadium. Yes, I've heard all of the stories about the atmosphere, the bleachers shaking, and the 'on-top-of-the-game' atmosphere. But if I remember correctly, there were great Skins teams playing in that stadium which contributed mightily to the atmosphere....not to mention the stadium is smaller, closer to the action, and has a metal overhang around the edges which traps a good deal of noise.

During the 2005 5-in-a- row stretch, I seem to remember the atmosphere at FedEx being crazy for the Giants and Cowboy games which were huge. No there were no shaking bleachers, but there was also no John Riggins, Art Monk, Darrell Green, Hogs, Fun Bunch, Possee, Wilber Marshall, Theisman, involved in the game. The more games like that you have, the more electric atmospheres you get. The more the crowd can play a factor in big games, the more of a reputation and advantage you get.

We haven't had a home playoff game in Fed Ex since we played the Bucs in 1999...so please stop comparing Fed Ex games involving a team with a losing record over the last 5 years, with the atmosphere at RFK involving a 3-time Superbowl team without a losing record for 10 years.

They're the same one's and I bought 7 of them

I'm ticked off at the fans for not showing up on Sunday vs the Bills and Thursday vs the Bears. Even the announcers commented on it. I came to my own conclution that maybe the fans are not going anymore because of the beers, bathroom, ticket prices, etc. Seems like most agree that the fans at these games are pretty weak. Sounds like you think everything is just fine.

I never said they shouldn't be expected to stay motivated. They're paid. I do think they feed off energy from the crowd. How can you say they don't??? That makes no sense.

I've never been to a sermon that you cheer and wave towels at the priest. Pretty poor example. Same with a surgeon. Actually I can't even make a connection on that one.

How about something that you do cheer for...a comedian. Do you think stand up comedians feed off the excitment of the crowd. Every time! If the crowd is cheering and laughing, the better the preformance. If they're quiet, or even boo, do you think he's not going to give a crap? He's going to bomb!

It works both ways though. Fans aren't going to be nearly as vocal and energetic when the team is playing poorly. When a team keeps losing the same way, giving up second half leads, that is going to silence a crowd.

I think that you're also using a poor example for a game. I've been to lots of games at Fed Ex and for the most part the fans are very vocal and energetic. As for the Bears game though, that was a Thursday night game so you aren't going to have the same type of energy as you would have on a Sunday game.

I doubt that most people wanted to feel tired for work just to watch another possible second half collapse. It's not shocking that the seats weren't filled to capacity.

I think you're spot on here and that's the answer I was waiting for. It works both ways. Even though the team may be letting us down (not sure I agree with that...with everything they've been through, they're still in the playoff hunt), we need to bring our all every game. That's my point. Let's not let them down. Don't continue to expect to lose in the fourth quarter, get the seats filled, don't sit on your hands in crucial situations, travel to away games, use those towels. Whatever you can do, do it as best as you can. I'm a bit fanatical, so maybe I'm asking too much. But for what it's worth, I'm trying my hardest, and I expect the same.

That's a load of crap! If we expect them to "leave it all out on the field", then we should at least be equally as vocal in our support, ESPECIALLY when you've paid a high price to get there.

If you're worried about being tired the next day, pass your ticket on to a real fan. My 2 cents

Well, thats what happens when a habitually loses. Sorry but it is what it is. I don't own tickets and that's just my assumption as to why they didn't show up.

I declined tickets for that very reason, I start work at 6AM. Heck, I didn't even watch the entire game live, recorded the second half and watched it to the next day.
