This seems like it will be decent. I always thought the original, "The Omega Man" from 1971 with Charlton Heston, was pretty interesting whenever I would come across it on cable.

So let me be sexist...who was hot in 2007 Movies. I sound like a broken record but that cheerleader in Death Proof...just wow, wow..Ok so it was a bit part but who gets your vote?

BTW saw American Gangster last night. Its in the the top 10. Great movie and Denzel proves he is one of the best

...classic. Superbad was one of my favorites of the year. Borat was hilarious and 28 Weeks Later was a classic.

Dude, was Borat in 07 really? Dag, if it was, than yep, that's definitely a great movie for 07..(I really thought it was 06 though).. whatever.

I'll say it again, American Gangster was "eh" at best to me. FYI.. IMO, Malcolm X was Denzel's greatest role in any movie of his life, Training Day comes as a far second.

Borat was hilarious and 28 Weeks Later was a classic.

I thought the first half of 28 Weeks Later was great; the first scene especially was better then anything from the first film. But the film fell apart in the second half. Maybe it was just me, but I could care less about the children, the way the virus was spread was predictable, and felt to me like a vehicle to make a 3rd movie.

The Johnny Depp Demon Barber flick is one I'll probably see opening weekend.

I saw the play on Broadway years ago. It was excellent. I just don't know how well musicals go over in the movie theater these days. I guess Depp did a fair Willy Wonka a couple of years ago, but that didn't hold a candle to the Gene Wilder version IMO.

My top five movies for this year are:

1) Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

2) Transformers.

3) Fantastic Four:Rise of the Silver Surfer (Mainly because the Surfer is my favorite super-hero).

4) Superbad.

5) 300.

Yeh J, I think Johnny will do ok with this one. Just saw 'Legend' this morning. I'd rate it about 6.5-7 out of 10, and it was surprisingly short (approx 1:40) in comparison to today's blockbuster movies.

Any grown ups in this thread? No? I did not think so.

BG.. I saw Legend too, it was so damn short. Movie was ok at best. I do like the way they did the makeup on the 'bad guys' so to speak. LOL
Those dogs though, those dogs to me were the best man!!! Oh, and that chick who pulled out her own gun and the little boy pulled out a knife, that was a classic!!!

For those who like the Jackass movies, you can watch 2.5 (the third, sadly) for free for a couple weeks.

My top ten. Note that seven of the ten are new releases. Looks to me the movie people are doing this on purpose: Oscars, holiday bucks, whatever.
Summers seem reserved for cartoons and kids in general. Adults, apparently, go to the movies during the fall and holiday season.


There Will Be Blood: Daniel Day Lewis will be nominated for Oscar.

Sweeney Todd: Maybe best of 07. Dep will be nominated with Lewis.

Charlie Wilson's War: Cynical view of US wars, probably true.

Walk Hard: Another Oscar nomination for our man.

Juno: Best Comedy

300: Oscars for cinematography, etc. Truly exciting experiment. Loved it.

No Country for Old Men: Superb, philosophical, Best Direction

Bourne Ultimatum: Best action flick.

Hairspray: Totally delightful and stupid musical. loosen up.

I am Legend: Ok film. Distinguished because use of Bob Marley's

Redemption Song in Sound Track.


Movies I Refused to See:

Pirates of the Caribbean whatever: No more for me. Just too stupid, boring.

The Simpson's: Lost interest in Homer years ago.

Harry Potter whatever: Seeing the first one was a big mistake.

Shreck and the thing about Rat: Washing my hands of kid shows.

Denzel Washington movies: Denzel's repeating himself like so many before him: the Pacino/DeNiro disease.; the Aussie mails in his role.

Dennis Hopper movies: Worse major actor in Hollywood

Um, I don't say this proudly but my job is such that I end up following Hollywood and its ilk rather closely and, assuming you are talking about McConaughey, that's wildly inaccurate.

I thought "A Time to Kill" (1996) with Matthew McConaughey and Sandra Bullock was a pretty decent movie.
