They may not retire the number but maybe it will never be issued to anothert player again, an unofficial retirement.

I can't even think straight right now.

you took the words right out of my mouth..go out on the field and show sean is still a part of this team and wear a 21 on the helmets and a band on the jerseys in his honor.

i,m still having a hardtime as well ..literally a kid with his life still ahead of him but someone decided otherwise...

i can,t think at all ..

There is no way that someone could ever come into the organization and fill ST's shoes.

Just no way.

# 21 will forever be known as Sean's number.

My 2 cents

I understand the sentiment surrounding Sean, but to suggest that #21 belongs to him after 1 Pro Bowl year, shows extremely short term memories, and ignores the accomplishments of these other Redskins #21 wearers, whose numbers were not retired*:

SMOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!

TERRY ALLEN

EARNEST BYNER

MIKE NELMS

Three of these guys are on the 70 Greatest Redskins List, and have, to my knowledge, a more impressive resume than Taylor.

I'm not trying to burst y'all's bubble, but do wish to offer some perspective. My 2 cents

I'm sure the Redskins will find a great way to honor Sean, when all is said and done.

*Of course, Smoot is not retired, but I hope you get the point.

thats putting it straight about the other 21,s in redskins history..

Maybe rename the field Sean Taylor Field. Or possibly build a monument to him at the entrance.

I agree. something of that stature... something on everyones jersey like how people wore the 9/11 pins
There are only two teams I root for in the NFL. The Skins, and whoever is playing Dallas.

It's okay that we drafted a Landry. After this season, the crygirls will have a new association with that name.

Maybe Snyder has enough pull to make Nov 27th each year a state holiday in recognition of Sean. Every Nov 27 the entire Redskin organization goes out into the community in Sean's name and does all kinds of charitable work. Sean would have loved that.

Diggler,

Quit hiding behind your new screen name, and come out like a man and say who you are.

You're a coward, and you know it!

You're scum, you coward!
Sit back and watch the Redskins.

SOMETHING MAGICAL IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!

Not sure what JP did last night but you didn't deny being a coward or scum so most members will not feel bad by bypassing the meaningless garbbage that you're posting.

Stupid question, but do you guys have a ring of honor? Football #'s are tricky to retire because of the restrictions you have based on position. For instance, no jersey is "officially" retired in Dallas but certain numbers are just not worn. (74, 8, 12, etc.)

There's a ring, not sure of the name they use (of honor, of fame or whatever) and the team has only retired 1 number officially. The Skins are painting his #21 around certain parts of Redskin Park today as a temp. memorial

Completely agree. I don't think I could imagine anyone else wearing that number. It needs to be retired.

Name a whole wing after him at Redskin Park. Or the fields at redskin park. I say this coz if it's at fedex the media will go all out with their insincere rant about him, this way if it's in Ashburn, it's more like our thing, as in only true fans appreciate it, and rookies will know how high the bar was set by the man that wore #36 and #21.
#21 (36) This IS and will always be the High watermark where all new DB's are measured.
