Big Joe Jacoby says that the Skins need to break the mold on offense. They are not pressing it downfield. Gee where have we heard that before? But, this is from someone who has been there in the trenches. So I agree with him.

He also says that he believes that CP is not 100%. If that is the case, maybe it is time to sit him down and Betts take over.

Guess evreyone is over at Reskins.com watching the post game comments and interviews. Won't find much there. Ended up being the 4th worst defeat in Skins history. Time to shut this down and move on.

I may start to entertain the notion that Moss really isn't a #1 WR. We need a #1 big tall WR stat!

Shut it down not just for this week, and not just for this season.

It's time to shut down the "win now -- or at least next year" philosophy and accept the time has come for the word Danny has not wanted to hear since the day he got the team:

rebuild.

Yeah, there have been too many years of being close, but being close does nothing but cause you to be more desperate the next year. Take a few steps back so that you can be prepared to take MANY steps forward when the ship has been righted.

Moss is, at best, a #2 (I even question that) and Randle El is at best, a #3. Kinda tough on your young QB when his O-line is banged up and overmatched, his cadre of wideouts barely qualify as "targets", and his running back seems unable to break a tackle and make a play even when he does manage to get a head of steam. Vrabel and Colvin looked like Lawrence Taylor and Carl Banks out there today.

Moss would be a star at no 2 or with ARE at no 3. We really dont have a number one receiver. Any available in FA this year?

I agree and disagree with your post. I think that Santana is fully capable of being a number 1. The problem is that teams double cover him because there really aren't any other receivers that other teams need to worry all that much about. Randle El is a nice receiver but I still don't think that he is a number 2. And who is our number 3?? Thrash!?!? Do other teams even need to cover him? What we need is a big receiver (not necessarily a #1) that can go across the middle to open things up for Moss. When we went to Campbell from Brunell I thought that the coaches would finally decide to use the middle of the field but we really don't do that very much. Our first play of the season was an attempted pass to Cooley down the seem but I don't think that we have done that since. We need to use more of the field and try to find a way to get our play makers (Cooley, Moss, etc.) in space. Every time Moss or Randle El catch a ball they are blanketed by defenders.

I am not ready for the 1st part of your statement, I have been a Redskins fan to long. As for the 2nd, I agree, Gibbs is not the answer and neither is Jason Campbell...........................2 fumbles almost 3 and an interception.

Campbell didn't loose the game by himself, the offense didn't show up.

I don't know if anybody else noticed this but Logan Mankins tore our LB's a new one all game on the underneath stuff. He is a beast.

Thank god I didnt watch this past the first quarter, it looks like it went as bad as I thought it was going. What bothered me was 2 things, preparation sucked and we looked awfully flat for a game like this. I dont know where the blame lies on this one, looks like everyone took the week off in practice. Very sad performance today. I said it before and I will say it now, theres no way the Patriots are that good and still be legit. In a league that has stuctured itself for pairoty, why is one team this much better? Is it just luck they have this personnel? If Belechic was this good , why havent all of his teams looked like this? Even previous Patriot teams werent this good. We stunk today dont get me wrong, but are we now the worst team in the NFL? Something is fishy, I hope they get caught soon.

I think thats just sour grapes talking because we were thrashed. They looked great therefore they are cheating (again). They outplayed us in every aspect of the game, they didn't need to cheat, we were that bad.

But see, that's the whole point. #1 caliber receivers get theirs even when doubled. They find a way even if they're held quiet in stretches. Moss is not a bonafide #1 wideout.

Yeah maybe a bit, but something just dont feel right about that team,I just dont see how that kind of dominance is possible in Todays NFL. If they do this to the Colts, there should be a serious investigation. Im not just talking about what happened to us today, but every team they have played so far. Something just dont add up, all of a sudden this team is the greatest team in NFL history BY A LONG SHOT! even better than previous Patriot teams. I could expect a certain amount of dominance by one team over the rest of the league , but this?

IMO it's moreso due to his stature and build of body. He has the heart and the skills, but he's simply not big enough to be a primary target.

Thrash at the #3 position is just retarded on Gibbs behalf.

I disagree about the Campbell statement. He has played very well this season so far. Far better than most young quarterbacks would at this point in their careers. Tons of analysts....Sonny, Aikman, Jaworski, Jacoby, etc. have all praised him and said they expect him to be very successful in the NFL. Yes he fumbled 3 times today, but I'm far more concerned about what the offensive line was doing than I am about JC fumbling. Twice Vrabel hit JC unblocked and on the other fumble we had Cooley (a mediocre blocker) and CP (usually a good blocker but he had an injured hand) trying to block him. We were down and JC was just trying to make things happen. Brady fumbled in a similar fashion as JC (ball knocked loose while trying to throw). The only difference there was that Brady's line actually blocked for him today.

Take a team that does everything as well or better than the rest of the league. Add Randy Moss, Wes Welker, and Adalius Thomas. What do you get? The 2007 New England Patriots. The best team ever assembled IMO.

Face it, Campbell was absolutely horrible today. His first interception, like last week's interception, has to leave your head shaking. Aikman said Campbell was talented, but Aikman also said there was no excuse for Campbell to put the ball on the ground that many times. It's either poor coaching or the guy is just very careless with the football.

Secondly, Campbell looks slow, just like he did last season, and he holds the ball too long, just like he did in preseason. He's been throwing late. On a couple of those strips you can clearly see he's waiting for the receiver to come open when the ball should already have been thrown. The jury is still very much out on whether Campbell will ever be a pro-caliber quarterback, and this game proves it until Campbell proves otherwise.

Gibbs has never been a personnel man and Aikman put it bluntlly. If you look at all the personnel moves the Pats have made the last few years, and compare them with those the Redskins have made, it's a complete 180. That's the difference.

The Patriots should be a good model to follow.

They went out this season and got Tom Brady three big targets in the passing game, and now they are tearing the NFL to shreds!

What legit targets does Campbell have to throw to? Moss (constantly double covered) and Cooley (always gameplanned against.)

With Brady, he has so many targets (including Moss, a legit star who can be double and triple covered with no noticeable effect on his performance.) that he does not even have to look downfield for single coverage, but for the reciever who gives his team the best chance at the most yardage (since they are all either single covered or named Randy Moss.)

He can throw anywhere... and defenses are so bamboozled, Brady has like 6, 7 or more seconds to make his selection.

The Redskins need targets for Campbell. ARE can be a good #3 guy. He has a lot of versatility. Cooley is a good starting TE. Moss is a great #2.

We need two things for the offseason either through the draft, trades or free agency:

A big time WR and a starting quality TE.

These things would cement our offense. The line is fine, the RB tandem is fine and the QB is a future star.

We need a WR bad, but much more we need a DeMarcus Ware type defensive linemen and much, much more O-Line depth. Gibbs should never, never have taken a QB in the first round. He won 3 SB's without this type of QB so what was he thinking? With personnel on the Skins so messed up, I don't see them ever challenging for the SB for the next 2-3 years AT BEST. Today shows just how low we are in the pecknig order, and it wouldn't have been much better against Indy.

I believe that was Sellers... not Cooley. Sure looked like "45" to me.
