I think we have the POTENTIAL to put up 24-35 points a game... and we dont... its sad... and i wish we get over it this bye... i bet we we beat DET like 28-17... I think that we do this for a few then go back to the same old way...

If I recall correctly, however, you got quite indignant when I said, right before Campbell was named the starter, that you have to be smoking something if you can't see that Brunell is done. I stand by that.

My stance on Brunell has been, and still is, that I think he is in exactly the correct spot and that I consider him valuable as a backup. Again, that's not at all relevant to this conversation.

I'm not buyin' that. This team has plenty good enough players. It's the play calling that's the problem. I think it's a combination of bad play calling and also a lack of quality offensive players. For one thing, Gibbs, Saunders, and the other 85 offensive coaches on this staff need to realize that Betts and CP are not interchangeable. Giving the ball to CP 20-25 times should cure some of the offensive problems. However, I think that our wide receiver corpse is very mediocre. Moss is a borderline #1 receiver but after that our receivers are not very impressive at all. ARE is a number #3 imo and belongs in the slot. He is short and doesn't really complement Moss in any way. He does the same types of things that Moss does, only not as well. And he never seems to be able to break tackles. Thrash is a solid special teams player but as a #3 receiver he is arguably one of the worst in the NFL. Not much to say about Lloyd. His numbers speak for themselves. He has plenty of potential but we have said that about a lot of players that have played here. Caldwell and McCardell could be solid but it's probably going to take them a while to learn the offense and get some timing down with JC. We have ey who is a great TE but with the problems on the right side of the line he is being kept in to block more than usual. So yes the play calling is definitely a problem. A lack of offensive identity because of the input of both Saunders and Gibbs is another problem. And a talent defeciancy at some offensive positions is yet another problem.

I am the last guy supporting Brunell, unless The Redeemed one is backing me. If (and I hope not) Campbell gets hurt, I'd rather see Brunell play than Collins...or whatever his name is. (Hard to remember becuase he's hardly ever played, here or in KC).

That is, Collins has had ten years and proved that he can't play. Brunell was good once, and not shabby in 2005. A sharp mind can do a lot. Anyone old enough to remember Y. A. Tittle? He replaced a 42-year-old named Charlie Conerly...who started in the great "sudden-death" playoff.

Damn right our receivers are unimpressive. Here we are in year 4 of the new Gibbs era and we're still pulling potential starters off the waiver wire? What gives?

ey is one of my favorite players but he's not a great blocker. Where's our blocking tight end?

With McCardell, I think he's a case in point with respect to the decline in the abilities of our front office, when you contrast him with Gary Clark. We got the best years - the middle career years. With McCardell, apparentlly we're getting the worst...drafted him then lost him - he was great for other teams - now he's back for the dregs. Pretty much says it all in a nutshell.

WOW!!!! Theres alot of negative posts on here tonight. Im getting really tired of people on here saying "we should have lost the eagles game", WE DIDNT !!! WE WON, so get over it. And the Lions and the cowboys are going to crush us. This has got to stop.

Really, we should have lost the Philly game due to the poor offensive playcalling, but as the announcers kept pointing out, their receivers blow and their QB was consistently missing open receivers.

. . .and if Campbell's pass had been 3 feet closer to his target on a pass in the 4th quarter, you wouldn't have an argument here. The execution wasn't there, and so there's something to be negative about, even if we won.

I saw the Cowboys demolish St. Louis today. Based on the way our respective teams are playing, I expect they will demolish us too, in both games.

Well, we'll see. This Redskins team hasn't been looking bad, aside from one half of one game so far. I'm willing to wait and see how they come off of the bye week.

Based upon the way Hognostications is looking this week, it might not be a good idea to lend creedence to these types of opinions.
