Hey its over already. The only thing I want to see is that our team learns from the mistakes and the approach we took in the second half. We took off with a fourteen point lead by half time so it wasnt half bad, If we continue to go for the kill I think we will be ok. Just have to approach the second half like we did the first half.

Yes we are 2-1 and that is a positive. I am over the loss nothing you can do about it but learn and hopefully the changes that are necessary are made. 8)

I think it made us an better team indeed but I think we need to start Heyer at RG and just help Fabani alot to get better.Cause we didn't give JC enough time at all.

I see what you are saying but if Gibbs hasn't learned this by now I don't think that one loss is going to change it. This is the same crap that we have seen since his return. The overly conservative, play not to lose mentality simply isn't going to work in today's NFL. Offenses are way too explosive and almost no lead is safe if you get too conservative and stop scoring. It's almost as if Gibbs is coaching scared. Just look back to the Miami game. That decision to kick the field goal in overtime is a perfect example of what I am talking about. Gibbs said himself that he decided to kick because he was worried about a fumble or an interception. This mentality of his really has me concerned for this team's future. If you are afraid to open things against arguably the worst defensive backfield then what are we going to see when we play the Patriots or other good good teams.

On the bright side - Lloyd won't be any less productive this coming weekend as he was last weekend!

wbbradb wrote:This loss was the best possible thing that could have happened to the Redskins this week. Up 17-3, 2-0 on the season, these guys had already started believing the hype. If we had held on to win, the players would have treated this bye week as an extended vacation and the entire season would have derailed. As it is, we lost a tough game to a divisional opponent that could NOT afford to lose. For the Giants, this was a must-win game. They played a great game and got a great win. (That everyone is saying that is a compliment to the Skins.) And frankly, you don't learn much about yourself as a team by winning. Every team has to go through adversity in order to grow and improve and GET HUNGRY.

In the second half, the plays were there to be made. The execution--the focus--was gone. Dropped passes, missed assignments, missed tackles, overthrown balls, and a fumble--those are the things that killed us. The players know it and when they break down the game film they'll be kicking themselves. Even with terrible execution on both sides of the ball, down the stretch BOTH the defense and the offense made the plays they needed to make to put the team in a position to come back and tie it up. If Betts follows his block on that 2nd down, he's in. If Campbell hits Moss on that play-action bomb--which he will, one of these weeks (it's the last weapon we're missing and the most potent one)--a field goal wins the game. But thank God we didn't win. Because this team needs to stay hungry and get angry and put it together for an entire game, week after week.

I agree with you - but I'm not so gleeful with my enthusiasm.

The skins are nicked. The right side of the O line needs more work to get better in sync. JC needs to settle down. BL needs to step up. Both the O and D need to execute.

Overall, the skins lost their mojo in the locker room at halftime. I wonder what went down. Did the Giants steal the signals/playbook? Where is the locker room leadership to keep the team focused?

I hope the skins are p*ssed, embarrassed and angry over what happened with the g'nates - and to use that game as a rallying point for the rest of the season.

After a debacle of a game like that its hard to find any bright spots but I'll try.

Jason Campbell has done what has been asked of him. The offense "letting off the gas" in the second half as he said on 980 this morning is more the coaches fault than his. I've seen many final drives over my years as a Skins fan and he gave the team a chance to score for the tie. You really can't ask for much more than that right now. When he drops back to pass and lets the ball go I'm not cringing in fear of an INT. Instead I'm anxious to see which receiver comes down with the ball. Granted, he's thrown his fare share of INT's so far but he's also 25 with only 10 starts under his belt. He'll get better.

Apparently the coaching staff realizes they played that second half scared and vows to be more aggressive in the second half of games. Hopefully this isn't just an attempt to blow smoke up the butts of the B&G fans. If true, we'll find out soon enough.

Right now, thats all I've got. I need to find the "I'm still pissed and I'd like to give the coaching staff a piece of my mind" thread. Of course, given the opportunity to speak to the coaching staff, an "I'm still pissed rant" would be the last thing I'd do.

It's beginning to look as though if you can spell "genius", or copy and paste it from someone else who spelled it correctly, you qualify. :P
The only way to lower the bar that I can see is to qualify everyone who is able to succesfully login.

Hey! I'm in! I'll admit, I did have some trouble a couple of days ago, but I qualify... at least for today! :P

What bothers me is they're having to right the ship already. Until the 2nd half of the Midgets game, the ship was right.
