"I have a rookie next to me. Wish me luck." - Randy Thomas on postgame. Haha.

I never said he did a good job of it. But can you really expect

ey to be able to block Porter?

to think we could've had Randy Moss for a 4th rounder...

Don't expect realistic things from fans.
You have a receiving TE trying to block a premier LB in the league. Now if

ey was a strictly blocking TE, then I'd expect a bit more.

Obviously the coaches did, or we wouldn't have run behind him.

Hey Chris, remember how you had said in a
training camp thread:THe difference between Smoot and Rogers is that Smoot makes the pick and Rogers doesn't.
Oops.

Springs just said that Smoot said Carlos is rubbing off on him after they went to the locker room.
We need to exile Carlos immediately.

Heyer performed well. Other than the false starts he was very good. In fact our Offensive line played a very good game. Whooo hooo!

It's the first start of the year, so we can't read too much into it... but Campbell didn't inspire any confidence in me. 2 INT's and around 200 yards passing (a 200 yard performance made less impressive by the fluke hail mary and his chances in OT.)
Hopefully he can build on today's game experience.

The second int wasn't his fault. Very poor effort on the play by Lloyd. JC did have some accuracy problems but his receivers also dropped a few passes (i.e. Moss). Also

ey was being kept into block more than usual so that took away one of JC's favorite weapons. Even with all the pressure of being the starter on opening day and despite some rough patches during the game, JC stayed composed and never lost his cool. JC didn't become timid because of the int's and he made very good decisions all throughout the game despite facing a top 5 defense. Lots of young qb's would've folded but JC kept his head up and led the team to victory. I actually came away impressed by his performance simply because of his composure on the field.

He played well enough not to lose the game. Neither turnover hurt (thanks to the D) and the first one WAS his first pass of the year..nevres and all...,

eys route wasn't all that great but JC did stare him down the whole way.

Moss was double teamed the whole game... I'm sure he was a little frustrated at dropping balls. Moss is still a work horse and he'll be BAAAACK.

Lloyd was at fault for the 2nd INT. The 1st was Jason's fault, he admitted to such in the post game interview.
Lloyd failed to play the ball properly, he's not doing too well.

Yea I'm not at all worried about Moss. Everyone has a bad game. He is a stud.

They had the same ills as last year.
Bad on 3rd down defense.
No pass rush.
D-backs were smoked. How many wide open passes did the Fins drop? Smoot was horrid in coverage.
No go big possesion reciever. Where was

ey?
Brandon Loyd sucks and is a waste of a roster spot.
Lame play calling with no sense of momentum.
Good run D and good run O.
BUT they had the mojo to win. And that mojo is huge. I think there's going to be a lot of work going on at Redskins Park. And if they can get a few wins under there belt, confidence will help the team find a way to become a winning team.
This team needs to find its personality. Maybe never giving up and playing hard is a start.

Agree on the 2nd INT. Lloyd is a JOKE. Moss and/or any other receiver would have made a play on the ball... Lloyd made that INT WAY too easy.

Am I the only one that was disappointed with the skins pass rush defense? They gave Green way to much time to find a receiver, which hurt the effectiveness of the rest of the defense on passing plays.
JC played well IMO....sure he had some high throws (could be nerves and trying too hard) but his receivers also dropped a bunch they should have caught.
Loyd only had one ball thrown to him and he did a good job pulling it in. From an aspect of 2nd WR he might be disappointing but right now I put him at 3. If he were dropping the ball then I would be getting upset with his performance.
CP and LB...excellent job...no need to say more.
Let me ask you all a question: How many times could we look back last season and say "This or that could have easily been a scoring play”. Today I counted 4. IMO that is a huge improvement and as the season goes on and the offence gets more experience and jells better those will be scoring plays.
Overall: It was just Miami but the skins fought hard. They got a W which was not the case last year and they showed signs of a pulse. Works for me for the first game of the season. Now we build on that. Thanks for a great job today gang!

Where is the LOVE? Positive reinforcement may go a long way for those struggling:
Lloyd, Rogers, Smoot...... Clearly they all could have played better but negative feedback constantly will KILL their Spirit....
Where is the Love

It wasn't as bad as last year but there's definitely room for improvement. A lot of improvement. They rushed him a good amount of times but they killed us on the dump offs.

I think we put too much pressure on our DBs. Our D-line seems to give QB's a lot of comfort against a 4 man rush. Green held that ball forever and didn't have to deal with pressure. Most secondaries would struggle against that much comfortability.

That's a very good point. Our corners struggled but Green had far too much time to throw. More importantly, Green rarely had a hand in his face and hardly ever got hit. You can't allow a veteran qb like Green to be that comfortable in the pocket.
