When has anyone ever been told by a staff member or moderator that they couldn't (or shouldn't) express their views on this message board? Can you name one instance where a post made within the site rules was censored or the poster intimidated by a mod for what they did?

Or perhaps you're talking about board members responding to criticism, and how that's somehow a bad thing. If so, I'm not sure what you are getting at. Is it OK to criticize a player on the board but not OK to defend the player against criticism? Should whoever posts first have immunity from his positions being questioned? Isn't the response as much a part of the discussion that you seem willing to defend here?

You have to look at the posts that catch the most heat. There is almost never a harsh response to people that come to the board and say "I don't think Mark Brunell is a good quarterback and here is why. . ." The posts that elicit a reaction are always without substance (e.g., "Lloyd is a bum.") When a "contribution" is that sparse, people will respond in kind.

I love it here, but we've got to understand that we are all fans of the Skins and not just the players on the Skins...we've had some of the most defensive and contentious threads over people like Archuletta, Lloyd, Jansen, Lavar etc

This falls into the same category as above. What exactly is wrong with the discussion, and exactly who is saying that no one should post critical things?

Maybe you're reacting to this thread, but look at what the thread was created for and look how people use it. It was made for questions to be asked on the B.Lloyd show and several people decided it would make them feel better to use it as a soap box for ranting. (But that's OK, and pointing out to others that they didn't even ask a question isn't OK. . .right.)

In fact, a moderator would be completely within their rights to remove the posts that are abusing the thread, but strangely enough, on this close-minded website, that hasn't happened. :hmm:

Excellent Points.

If any poster doesn't expect responses they should start their own blog instead of posting in a "Discussion Thread".

Back to the point of this thread ...

Brandon, I'm sure you weren't as involved in the offense this week as you would like to be. With Philadelphia's secondary a bit banged up, Redskins' fans expect to see more passing plays this week. What can Redskins' fans expect to see from Brandon Lloyd and the Redskins' passing attack on Monday Night?

I say we go back though and delete every post that doesn't include a question mark.

Brandon,

1. What are your feelings on the recent addition of Reshe Caldwell? Do you feel insulted? Do you feel any additional pressure to perform due to this recent addition?

2. I'd like to hear your feelings on Shawn Springs recent comment that he really did not care about playing time since he was making so much money?

When asked his feelings on not being told his status until just before the game Sunday Springs said, "Man, with my salary this year I'm not trippin,'?

3. No offence intended, but from the lay persons perspective it seemed like you might have given up on the play in the end zone that resulted in one of the interceptions. Honestly, did the coaches rip you a new one after reviewing that play or am I wrong in assuming your responsibility on that pass is to first, try and catch the ball and 2nd, try and prevent the other player from catching it?

Now that's a question, that's what the thread was started for.
If BLloyd said "next question" and JF responded with "UK Skins Fan asked... Ironic?" I'm not sure what the answer would be, but at least you asked a question.

My answer would be more along the lines of... no Ironic would be for me or another mod to ask a question like what does this have to do with questions for Lloyd and lock the thread, or just split out the "rants" and move them to another thread. JF could simply to the conclusion that the members really don't have any insightful questions and just "wing it" every week without board members input. He could just not give this opportunity in the future. The mods have simply tried to get the thread back on topic by pointing out it's intended use.

This isn't directed at UK, I'm just trying to help out those that want to moderated the Mods.

When did I ever say any of this? I said "ripped a new one"....nothing about censorship. Please, if its to the point you have to make up stuff and respond to your own made up facts.....then you probably shouldn't bother even saying anything. Try looking up the word "hyperbole", apply it to the phrased "ripped a new one", then maybe you'll get it.

Again, nobody said this. My point is that when certain players get criticized on here...out come the cavalry to tell people in so many words that their opinions are stupid, and they don't know what they're talking about. There is a difference between discussion and sarcastic blather as if no one except a select few has any valid opinion.

In fact, a moderator would be completely within their rights to remove the posts that are abusing the thread, but strangely enough, on this close-minded website, that hasn't happened.

Dude you're on a rant yourself here. No one said anything about being close-minded. Maybe thats a guilty conscience speaking there. I eagerly await B Loyd's response to your 'question' too.
SPIT HAPPENS!!

My point was not to call anyone out but the guilty do step forward don't they.
and I tried but I guess ther are no more real questioned to be posted here.
