Redskins sign Bodiford and Boyd

Ben Patrick was just waived by the Cardinals. I am a Duke fan and saw this kid play football down here a couple years ago. He was ranked like 3rd or 4th best TE in this year's draft. I would love to see him as the back-up, he has great hands and he's athletic and a big body that can block.

Patriots released WR Reche Caldwell.

It appeared he would make the team after he wasn't cut over the weekend, but the Pats eventually deemed their 2006 leading receiver expendable. It's a sign that the team is confident in Randy Moss' long-term health. Caldwell may be an option as a third receiver elsewhere and should find work quickly.

I don't think he would come to DC because of where he would be on the depth chart. He's probably going to be a no.2 at worst no.3. We can't make him that guarantee.

I think Caldwell could be number 2 pretty easily. He'd compete with Randle-El and lloyd. Those two are clearly better than Gardner and Jacobs, but they aren't top-line receivers.

I like the fact that Caldwell is 210 pounds, but the team needs a player who aout two inches taller. With speed. The Redskins once had a couple of WR's like that.

Unfortunately, they've each had as many 1000 yard receiving seasons for the Skins as anyone on our roster....

This is Reche Caldwell we are talking about people! A Florida WR. Before last year he had yet to break 1000 yards (NOT in a SEASON in FOUR YEARS! Total!). He had 22 catches as a rookie and followed that up by years with 8, 18 and 28 catches and he never played less than 9 games in a season. So how are we saying this guy could even THINK about being a #2. He should be happy just to make an NFL roster!

In 63 games he has 137 receptions, 1710 yards, a 12.5 average, and 11 TDs. That would be a great WR if that was for one year, but that is for FIVE YEARS. This is with a the inflated stats he received last year by playing on a playoff team with a future HoF QB. Almost half of those stats came last year!

I would be happy if he was the 5th WR on our team, but #2 or #3 someone has to be smoking crack to make that leap of faith.
