Report: Vick indicted in dog fighting case

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

I apologize for not wishing death or ill will towards anyone. I guess I was raised a bit differently than others. I'm definitely not supporting what happened but to wish affliction on another human being doesn't make that person much better than those who abused the animals IMO.

Personally, I've never eaten foot, to the best of my knowledge. But I have had some Chinese take-out I wasn't sure about.

I had some weird looking little fly in my food a few weeks back but i was so damn hungry I ate it anyway... They call me "fearless" now here at work.

It's all good in the hood people... Vick is whack and the Skins' are on their way back! Got it Jack?
Peace out people.

Be PROUD fans about your favorite player Clinton Portis ENJOYING and MOST LIKELY taking part of this.

Portis deserves any bad thing that happens to him.

It disgusts me that good men like Arkansas's RB coach Danny nutt have to retire with a recurrance of brain stem bleeding yet men like Clinton Portis are multi-millionaires who whine that people are angry at his comments.

A guy on ESPN said it best, "He would have been better off beating someone up outside of a night club."

EDIT:

If Clinton Portis and Chris Samuels find it so hilarious, maybe they should experience it themselves. I wonder if Chris Samuels is still on a trip in Hawaii to another un-deserved Pro Bowl.

You are not the only one that feels this way.

But he's the only one with enough boldness to post something so ridiculous.

"He deserves anything bad that happens to him."

My 2 cents

I don't think you can call it ridiculous. He has an opinion as do you, but calling his ridiculous isn't the best way to handle it. I'm sure you would get upset at some calling an opinion of yours ridiculous if you say something about which you feel very passionately about. This whole topic strikes a sore point in a lot of people.

Wishing harm on another human being because of something stupid they said is definitively ridiculous

I may be wrong FIOS and I'm not looking for an arguement but I thought he said he would deserve it, not that he wished harm on the guy. I took it as he was leaving it in the hands of karma. He's just venting. We all have done it, but to attack a guy's opinion is hypcirtical because we all have feelings about things that I'm sure others find silly.

Soooooooo, because someone has an opinion, I am not allowed to have an opinion about that opinion because I have an opinion?

Indeed, it does. It sometimes goes on an emotional and out-of-total-proportion path.

Please put a stop to your righteous indignation. One thing is an alleged criminal like Vick and quite another a fellow athlete who makes a statement in bad taste and poor judgment for which he and the team have apologised profusely. Just drop it!

Point your guns at Vick and his operations if you are truly horrified. Or better yet, give some time to an animal shelter. My kids volunteer a few hours every week in a cat shelter not too far from home. I donate every year to keep it running. How about -doing- something positive for animals instead of just expressing righteous but empty indignation in a public board against one of our own at a low point of his public standing?

Wow... I thought I did drop it. Did I miss something? Good for your kids. I foster abused dogs. Whoopee for us. Can you step off the soapbox now? I think I did a while ago and you didn't need to bring it back up in that fashion. Eh?

I did not see that. But if you did, fine. Perhaps I should have quoted Smithian instead of you but I did it because you seemed to have taken the lead on that side of the argument in this thread.

I agree to drop it as well. Peace.

According to Chick Hernandez of Comcast Sports Net, Vick will take a 1 year leave of absence from the Falcons.

All over the Falcons? If I'm Atlanta, I pray like hell that the NFL suspends Vick. That way you don't have to deal with all the controversy and won't be responsible if Vick comes back not guilty.

I don't understand why he is being punished now. They haven't even been in court yet. Pac-man was found guilty before his punishment, Kobe, no punishment because he was never found guilty.

Im not saying he's not guilty, Im just saying wait till proven guilty before you punish a guy.

Ok I did some checking.

According to http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football ... rges_N.htm

Pacman was "suspended for the season because of what the NFL deems a pattern of misconduct"

Here http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2910497
They say
"Since he was drafted in April 2005, he has been arrested five times -- although he has not been convicted of any crimes. Jones has been involved in at least 11 separate police investigations, authorities say, and is currently sought by Atlanta-area police for questioning in a shooting early Monday after a fight at a strip club there."

Well I still think they sould wait till AFTER the trial. Im sure because of it being on every news report in the country. The NFL feels they have to do something. But, I think they should issue a satement that he will be delt with accordingly AFTER the trial.
I firmly believe the Patriots are the antichrist.

Yeah but what if it takes a long time for it to go to trial and he continues to get arrested?

He showed no signs/remorse until the NFL stepped up.

These guys are getting paid millions of dollars. In one week they're getting paid what it'd take most people years to make. The LEAST they can do is abide by the law. I can understand once maybe twice, getting into trouble. But 3, 4, 5, 6 times? Hitting women? Biting officers? Inciting a mess that leaves a man paralyzed...? And all of that is factual.

I agree with pacman, he has a much longer record than Vicks.

Michael Vick was ordered by commissioner Roger Goodell on Monday to stay away from the Atlanta Falcons' training camp until the league reviews the dogfighting charges against him.

"While it is for the criminal justice system to determine your guilt or innocence, it is my responsibility as commissioner of the National Football League to determine whether your conduct, even if not criminal, nonetheless violated league policies, including the Personal Conduct Policy,"

My question is how can the NFL tell if he "violated league policies" If they don't know if he is guilt or innocent?

So true.

We all know, even if proven guilty you can still be let go, because of a technicality.

Did anyone here that the Falcon's were trying to trade for Brunell?

My friend said he heard it on ESPN radio. I doubt there is any chance the rumor is true.

Beside Gibbs would never let Brunell go.

Brunell will be considered and he could still give them a decent season. But Culpepper is in the driver seat to play there.

Collins will have a hard time to find a backup job elsewhere but he might. I do not think he will be kept. Bramlet and Carson are pushing hard for that 3rd spot.
