I don't have a link yet
but it was just reported that Dr James Andrews indicated that "upon further review" Portis has much stronger knees and his tendons are in better shape than most other NFL players including a C. Bailey who despite the knee and tendon concerns is still with the Broncos as of this report.

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I also found this on Web MD
http://arthritis.webmd.com/understandin ... tis-basics
"Most tendinitis heals in about two weeks, but chronic tendinitis can take more than six weeks, often because the sufferer doesn't give the tendon time to heal."
It it heals in like two to three weeks like it says, we will be fine.

I firmly believe the Patriots are the antichrist.

I read this too. Big whoop. Don't believe everything you read in print. Tendonitis is what it is. You can downplay it but it is degenerative. It won't heal like a surgically repaired knee. That's the nature of it. I'm certain this will shorten his career to some degree or affect his play, especially if he comes back too soon.
Like I said, they had better sit Portis through most of the preseason if this condition is real. I happen to believe, however, that a lot of reported injuries in the NFL are completely false, meant to throw off oponents' schemes. Not saying that this is the case here, but it's possible. I think Tom Brady's shoulder was reported "probable" on a weekly basis the past two years by Bellichick. Portis also might want a medical excuse to skip camp and preseason to avoid another serious injury and to get more time to rehab his shoulder.

False analogy. ACL etc is different than tendonitis. The key to understand is that this weakens your muscles. This as a bunch of micro tears in the tendons. There's nothing surgically you can do to repair it. Your body and rest may work given enough time, but if Portis tries to do training camp this summer, his years left are numbered. This can lead to an arthritic condition too or be a sign of one.
You don't regain the same strength in your tendons either. I don't care if you are superman and you have a team of doctors working around the clock from Johns Hopkins. Look up the treatment for this condition. Don't take my word for it.
I find it suspcious that tendonitis wouldn't be considered serious. They're either downplaying this or it's a "made-up" injury.
Sorry my friend, but this is simply not accurate. I have tendonitis in my left elbow, so I can speak from personal experience; from both having the condition and having it treated from an orthopedic surgeon.
Tendonitis CAN be repaired surgically. However, the surgery is fairly rare these days do to the FACT that is can be remedied with basic physical therapy. Tendonitis come and goes, but as I've learned with mine, physical therapy, a simple exercise routine geared specifically for the elbow, in my case, along with activities such as golf, all serve well in limiting the effects of tendonitis.
In Portis’ case, I wouldn’t be too worried. He’ll be fine and I’m sure they’ll give him the rest he needs or desires.

Ryan O’Halleran at The Washington Times reports that Portis developed patella tendinitis in the knee and sat out practice Wednesday and Thursday. Portis is rehabilitating his shoulder and hand after injuries suffered last season. His tendinitis is a new issue.
“He had some soreness in the knee, but he described that he could run and work out on it and it would be fine the next day,” coach Joe Gibbs said. “This week, it bothered him after the workout day so we decided to have it looked at.”
Portis can treat his injury with therapy, unlike LaVar Arrington whose arthroscopic surgery on his lateral meniscus tear in his right knee ended his effectiveness. According to Redskins trainer Bubba Tyer,
“He has to get some therapy, strengthen his quadriceps, stretch his hamstring and he’ll be fine.”
Tyer wouldn’t say which of Portis’ knees was affected, or how long he would miss practice.

Ask yourself this: why would Gibbs disclose this information at this point of the preseason?
He either wants:
a) Let all the fans know CP will not participate in any preaseson games
b) Let everyone know tha competition for starting RB is now open
c) Throw everyone off about a so called "invented" injury
I´m going with either a or b.
Gibbs has demostrated again he´s a very astute man. By giving this to the press he is reducing the pressure about CP return and making it completely natural to see LB as a starter by opening day.

Given that CP is the better RB and that I presume he will be ready to play because he will have had enough time between now and then to be ready to play - I would really be surprised if Gibbs did not have him in there on opening day.
I do agree that there is more to the "reports" about this "issue" but I think Portis will be the starting RB AND that he and Betts will be really good for Campbell and our offensive success this season.

I did...
Because if he had waited until mini-camp starts and Portis wrist and shoulder have healed, yet he's not particapating in team drill Fat Lenny or another hack would have writen a article about CP being un-happy about __insert whatever here__ and is not working out with the team. Gibbs would then sound like he's making something up on the fly or lying to the public in some kind of way.
That's what I came up with but I'll look at these options anyway.
a) Let all the fans know CP will not participate in any preaseson games
He'll play in at least the last 1 or 2, so that can't be it
b) Let everyone know tha competition for starting RB is now open
I think he would have just come out and said that...
c) Throw everyone off about a so called "invented" injury
It's May it would only throw off the fans, Joe wouldn't do that.

Wouldn't he have to come right out and say that or face explaining the change as the season approached, it would be better to come out with it and deal with it now. Wouldn't it?

Clinton hasn't played at game speed in awhile and Gibbs will want to get him in there with the first team if only for continuity, so I'm thinking the next to last preseason game (starters only play about a quarter), and the last one (when the starters will only see a series or two)

Tiki Fumble Barber? No thanks.
It was just a joke................don't lose no sleep over it because you and I both know Gibbs would laugh at somethng like that. Okay Okay, he would 'cackle' at something like that and then move on to the next question.
