It's a non-insightful one and repeats the inane Democratic talking point that they take jobs Americans don't want and ignoring that if we didn't have so much illegal immigration we could have more legal immigration to fill low end jobs anyway while actually checking out who is coming into our country. I prefer something clever as opposed to a mindless Democratic talking point repeated day after day after day.

But I actually meant he's an idiot in general, not in reference to this particular idiotic point. As he generally does like this point.

I think you should avoid Comedy Clubs.

You got me to laugh (not an insult). But do you really think that joke is insightful? The Democrats pound that message every day.

And BTW, there is in fact a difference between being "offended" by a joke and just thinking it's inane. I hate Bush as President, it's just that every joke by the left uses the same themes pounded by the Democrats every day and it's DULL now.

iRack was funny because it was clever. This "joke" is just a shallow variation of talking points from the DNC homepage.

I think the joke is funny, that's all that matters as far as I am concerned

OK, I have no issue with that.

The joke was a joke, was it funny is the only question. Knowing the jokes tellers background amd looking at the big picture takes away from the purpose of it being a joke.

You didn't comment on the joke you commented on Bill, there's a difference.

Maybe you hate everybody, I don't know. Really don't care one way or the other but if you can't deal with a joke because it has politcal condentations again I say away from Comedy Clubs.

Like Iraq was at the top of every comedians list of thingd to get in before it became a talking point for the right and the left.

I don't claim a party or a side, but I come to conclude that all of us are to the left on some issues and on the right of others. Jokes might be more tolerable if you got the hell out of the middle of them.

 Say what? I can't "deal with" the joke? I said it was inane because it's been told over and over and over by liberals and Maher is an idiot because all his "jokes" are like that. He's like how fans like to say the name of anyone who sounds like boo over and over and over. Maybe it was funny the first 300 or times I heard it but now it's getting stale.

Just to be clear, is your standard you cannot criticize people unless you "can't deal" with them? So are you admitting you "can't deal" with me?

Just sparring with you. Must be a slow day to parse this conversation.

I think the joke is funny because few Americans realize how much work in this country is due to the labor of those who are on the outside and are trying to get in.

Americans aren't losing their jobs to illegal immigrants because of "slave wages", the illegals are picking up these jobs because Americans find that kind of work for that kind of pay beneath them. "Slave wages" is a contradiction in terms when the one earning them does so willingly and eagerly.

What I said was "Americans would be glad to do those jobs if illegals didn't for what we consider slave wages and legal immigrants could do them just as well as illegal."

So I said "what we consider slave wages" not "slave wages." In the context of what you said, they are willing to do them for those wages and they are therefore by definition not slave wages. What I said was most Americans won't do that work for those wages, not that Americans won't do that work. Obviously as libertarians we would both disagree with the minimum wage, but I covered that too with "legal immigrants would do them just as well as illegal." So those jobs going empty doesn't justify illegal immigration since we can satisfy it with legal immigration.

In the case of liberals it is a double standard, they use illegals working below minimum as a justification for illegal immigration, that would be the minimum wage they demand. If we are going to have a minimum wage, why hurt Americans by only applying it to people here legally while allowing illegals to come and work for less? That stuns me.

So I'm not seeing that we actually disagreed. Like I said on the joke, it's just been done and done and done. Got it, it's funny that Americans won't work for the wages of illegals. Ha ha. OK, I get it now.

I keep getting comments on my comment. All I said is it's stale, a joke told again and again and again. Sorry I responded.

But on another topic, I just noticed Burke. I grew up in Michigan but lived in Burke a year as a kid and went to Lake Braddock. It was a nice town. Probably changed a lot though since I was there (1976-1977).

No, I don't remember any of the teacher's names. I was there just a year in 8th grade. Did you go there too?
