Hardly. First of all, it was probably mostly tongue-in-cheek. Almost nothing written by anonymous posters on the internet should be taken very seriously. Secondly, our front office isn't exactly known for its brilliance. I'm not saying we haven't made some good signings, but we've made some pretty bad ones as well, and even for some of the good ones (Portis, for example), we've given too much.

I know what he's referring to. I'm not sure I took his comment more seriously then you took mine, but to write a post phrasing it like that seems less then productive to me, that's all. You, he and I are all entitled to our opinion.

initially I was pissed but then on reading some of the responses I thought - what the hell! - I mean there are some pretty stupid game shows out there right now so why should I get upset if someone thinks that something as stupid as that idea is worth watching? Hey, that's what a lot of idiots do - they watch stupid game shows.

I would also add that IMO - 100% of the contestants would be "mentally challenged"

I am very hopeful that our FO this year will continue to position our team that will ensure as many options as possible

 Every team signs players that don't work out or dosen't get them to the SB. You guys think that if we sign a good player to a big contract that that should guarantee a SB win? lol...

I remember when a lot of people said is was stupid to trade Coles for Moss, so no one is perfect.

I believe those honors go to the Bidwills and whoever owns the Cubs.
