Ramsey will be the 3rd stringer in Denver before the year is out just like last year in NY. And Denver doesn't have a 3rd QB yet.

Tampa......ran Dungy out of town then gave up a crap load of draft picks for Gruden and now their team has gotten old. Yes they're idiots!
Chicago......Started Rex Grossman in the Superbowl. Then pisses off Lance Briggs. Yes, they're idiots!
Oakland......Hasn't stopped the coaching carousel from spinning and its been several years. Yes, they're idiots!
Cleveland......hasn't had a winning season in a while, but they are building. You got me here, I'm gonna say made a mistake.
Minnesota......They never tried to replace Chris Carter when he retired. And on top of that had a real good offense with Daunte Cullpepper and Randy Moss then they let them both go. They're offense hasn't been as good since. To make matters worse, they replaced Cullpepper with a 37 year old man! and then didn't draft a young quarterback OR bring in a younger quarterback. Yes, they're idiots!

Two points come to mind:
1) I already admitted that at this point, it's unlikely Ramsey will ever be the undisputed starter anywhere. I'd like it to happen, but I'm not betting on it at all. Blame Spurrier, Gibbs, fate, or Patrick himself, but there it is.
2) Scouting is still a
very inexact science. Otherwise, we wouldn't be cursing the name Shuler, and the name Ryan Leaf wouldn't pop up every time the topic is draft busts. And Tom Brady would've never lasted to the 6th round.

Gruden's hilarious - he changes QBs more than some people change socks! The Tampa job has the world's shortest QB leash. He'll probably draft at least three more in April, and he's probably drawing up 3-QB sets as we type.

He had his shot last year against a guy that had 2 surgeries on his shoulder and a rookie. He started his Jets career battling for the starting job againsst a guy that could throw at the time and a the other guy hadn't joined the team. In the end he came in third. That's on Ramsey, what caused it we may never know but if it happens that he's the 3rd stringer in Denver what will be said.

Here's my thoughts. He could have signed with a team that would give him a legit shot at starting.
But instead, he signed a contract with Denver, with no shot to unseat a younger, better QB. The Broncos drafted Cutler high, and spent a lot of money and time on grooming him. There is
NO WAY, struggles or not, Ramsey plays at all next year (barring injury, of course).

Ramsey, when drafted by Snyder, was a bad draft pick, for a position we didn't need at the time. From then on it was all down hill.....
Hope he does OK in Denver or wherever he goes afterward. He should save all the money he can for his life after the NFL. I bet he'll do better in whaterever he does after his NFL days are over.

Funny how many QBs leave here (Rich Gannon and Trent Green) and go on to have better times elsewhere.
I wish Ramsey all the best and for some reason I think he he will be a very good QB for some years to come and will end up a lot better QB than a lot of fans here think he is capable of being.
We have our starting QB but we still need a decent back-up to Brunell because I sure would not want to count on him for any length of time. Brunell is like a relief pitcher - only decent and generally just keeping the game in check.

Throw Brad Johnson in there!

I'm not going to talk down nor support Ramsey but the teams that you listed are not good examples of teams with good scouting. The last year anyone of those teams won a superbowl was in the late '80s

Pennington was pretty good he did lead his team to the playoffs, he is better than anyone on the Skins, and Campell will never be as good as he is.

Campbell will never be as good as Chad Pennington? Why, we're talking about Pennington, not Peyton Manning....

Chad Pennington last year threw for 17 TDs and 16 INTs, and a 82.6 QB rating. He's started 53 games. He averaged exactly 1.06 TDs per game, and 1 INT per game.
Jason Campbell threw for 10 TDs and 6 INTs (note to John Manfreda, a 5:3 TD to INT ratio is better than a 17:16 ratio). His Qb rating was 76.5. He's started a grand total of 7 games. Campbell averaged 1.43 TDs per game, and 0.86 INTs per game. Over a whole season, that projects to 23 TDs and 13 INTs. For someone starting their first games in the NFL.
You could look at someone like Pennington and realize that he's developed to where he's going to be. You can look at Campbell and
even any idiot should see that he's got quite a lot of room to grow. And even knowing that his best years are still ahead of himl, Campbell's average production blew Pennington's average production right out of the water last year.

Ramsey should do well if he gets a chance to start. Dever has had one of the best Olines for quite some time.
That being said, right now he´s just an injury to Cutler from starting.
How will we ever forget Ramsey, with his cannon right arm, overthrowing 5 yard chucks to Rbs comming out of the backfield in Spurriers offense?
I´ll probably remember him for the victory over NY in DC on Christmas Eve of 2005 when he came in after Brunnel was injured, threw some fantastic long passes to Santana, and the returned to his backup roll by next game.

You mean that medium length underthrown pass that Santana stopped to catch, and then ran it all the way for a TD?
Yeah, that was one HELL of a throw by Ramsey!
