Talk about the Washington Football Team here. Do you bleed burgundy and gold?

Trust me, I understand that notion. I also think Carlos Rogers takes far too much of the blame, I think there were some unrealistic expectations for a second-year player who had some flaws exposed by horrendous D-line play.

I agree Fios, I've said before that it's hard to guage individual play because they all rely on each soo much.

I think Lemar, Rogers, Springs, Taylor and even Archuleta get far more hate than they should. These guys didn't all of a sudden turn rotten after one year, there was a break down and that break down was in the trenches.

Well to be fair, there were more than their share of missed tackles, too. One thing that changed last year is that we started tackling like the Skins did under Norv Turner...

I'm with Fios and CLL here - pass rush is what will kill or cure our cornerback situation.

But I'd like to see Springs stay. I'm not fond of the idea of starting Smoot and Rogers. If Springs were to be released, we'd just have to replace him, and a cornerback as good as him would be very expensive to find. He's still our best cornerback - it's just a question of whether he can stay on the field.

What would change the situation would be if they surprised us all, and drafted a cornerback (perhaps after a trade down), but I just can't see that happening.

Springs+Smoot+Rogers looks good to me. Jimoh deserves to stay based on his special teams play if nothing else. Just need one more. My 2 cents

Who will play? Id like to see Spring/Smoot, but the who will play safty? I think we need an upgrade for safty as well. (Not talking about ST)

But you guys are right it all starts up front.

? All this talk about CBs, smooty, and fletcher, Im just wondering what about the D-Line? Who's coming to play DT. We sooo need a better line. Are we not going to sign anyone I think that should have been one of the first to address.

I honestly think we're OK at safety. Not great, but good enough. Taylor and Fox are fine. Prioleau will be back. I think the coaches are keen on Doughty as well (then again, some of them were keen on Holdman). And Archuletta, if used in the right way, can still be a player for us.

Sounds good but it is extremely hard to swallow all of that AA money that is basically going down the tubes with him playing STs and being demoted to 3rd. If we really want to do something with AA, then ask him to bulk up and move him to LB. That way, we at least get something out of the deal.

I personally think that Springs should rethink things and look to extend his career by moving to safety. Remember, he's not Darryl Green, a guy that can play at a high level at CB for almost twenty years....

Believe what I said was taken out of context before. I agree pass rush is our biggest problem but even Rumph and Wright would be exposed if we had the ravens pass rush. Talking about two terrible corners. Every aspect of the d has to improve a lot, don't just point at pass rush. Rememebr we had two guys playing corner who were cut from two very bad teams.

All other things being equal, any NFL QB who is allowed to get into a rhythm will pick apart any secondary. That's not to say that you want chumps at corner, you'd obviously like to have talent in the secondary. But if the team can't get to the QB, it doesn't matter who plays in the secondary.

I agree with your conclusion and without a pass rush eventually 5 Champ Bailey's couldn't prevent a pass completion, but I think you're not giving enough credit to good QBs ability to hit some really fast NFL receivers quickly.

I like CR and chalk off last year to sophomore jinx, I'm not bashing him, but he was badly beaten at times last year, and so was Kenny Wright. These guys need to be able to cover some really fast receivers.

I'm fine with what we have now, I'm just saying I still think IF we cut Shawn then we are not fine without doing something.

But I do agree pass rush is critical and I was figuring the #6 pick is going there. I don't know that we're that far apart here.

I tell you I really want that Allen Branch. I think it will all trickle down from him. He creates double teams, collapes the pocket...Andre Carter has a career year...we start blitzing again...corners have time to cover. DT - thats is where it starts.
