As of last week, I wanted Clements but when I saw that NE tagged Samuels, I decided that signing Clements will not only break the bank, it will totally tick off our current players...You give a new guy the vault and you ask your vets to take less or redo deals that gives them less money-- that's a terrible thing to do for the team. Plus, the 49'ers want a good CB too and they have nearly 40 million in cap space...we can't get in a bidding war with them or anyone else. There are a number of 2nd tier CBs out there that would help us, e.g., Harper from the Colts.

I'm not in the same camp as others thinking we need lots of CB (or safety) help. I truly believe our issues last year were more dline problems than anything. If the dline doesn't hold up, the back 7 is in trouble. If the Dline doesn't put pressure on the QB, our back 4 are in deep trouble, even if they're all studs.

While I totally ragged on our LBs last year, I will say, they were getting blocked by oline becuase our dline was not holding up. While AA can't cover, he was making tackles 10 yards down field, a lot and that was NOT his fault!

I'd rather see us find a run stopping DT in free agency that we can put next to Griff which allows us to draft the best DE available at #6. This DE MUST be able to play on the left side (which means they have to be good at stopping the run too). Carter plays the right DE position and he can not play the left side.

If the Skins want to trade down from 6 to 10-12 to get another player or pick in the draft, that's fine -- but their first pick MUST be a Left DE.
