Here you go:
Management:
This organization needs to hire a seasoned and qualified GM, period. Give him an iron thumb when it comes to personnel decisions, period. Gibbs and Williams have done a terrible job of trying to be GMs for this organization. Case in point, AA and their decision to sign two WRs, one who is a player (ARE) and one who is not (Lloyd) instead of getting a big (6-3 and above) #2 WR possession type WR to go along with Moss and ARE.
Coaching:
Too many cooks in the kitchen and not one teaching anybody jack. This is glaring on the defensive side of the ball with the Secondary having two coaches and not meeting; the inability to make sure these guys are fundamentally sound with their coverage and tackling; and the overall arrogance to think that the "scheme" makes a defense and not the players, thus making them think too much about the "scheme" and not using their talent to make plays.
Gibbs' refusal to give AS total control of the offense thus causing all sorts of confusion, wasted time-outs, and poor 2-minute clock management.
The lack of a solid training camp and off-season. Maybe all of the OTA's are burning alot of these guys out. Let them get away from football like normal and bust their azzez in training camp like in the past.
Gibbs' refusal to make the change at QB when it was clear that Brunell is done. That was clear last night when he did replace Campbell and refused to fight for the first down and then looked like a 70 year-old getting up.
Players:
Overall lack of discipline and pride in their play. This team has the talent to win it all but under-achieved miserably. They hold some blame in missed assignments and missed tackles too. Even though the "scheme", IMO, had them all screwed up, they still have to use their talent to make plays, period. It is still up to the players to put presser on the QB, block, catch, hold on to the football, tackle and not make mistakes. So even though the coaching was very bad this year, they still have to go out play, period.

At the beginning of this season if someone had suggested we wouldn't even make the playoffs, let alone finish 5-11, that person would've been laughed off the board. Yet here we are. So what went wrong? Discuss.
I predicted absolute disaster if Brunell and Holdman were starting on opening day. It seems I was overly optimistic.

Yes, I have read all of the Anti-Archuleta, Carter, Taylor and Rogers posts but I stand by my statement. Bringing in a whole new bunch of FA's is not going to improve the defense as much as letting these players spend an off-season getting blasted by the fans for their poor performance and giving them time to learn to work together as a unit. With luck, they will have something to prove next year. I am not condoning Williams approach that it is the system either. It obviously isn't. The defense was bad, bad this year but another pack of new faces is not going to make it better.
Are you kidding? Holdman absolutely has to be replace and we have a screaming need for another pass rusher and a couple of good CB's. It wasn't just a matter of poor motivation this year. We had a serious talent shortage.

Gibbs sticking with Mark Throw it away Brunell for so long didn't help matters either. At least Campbell got extremely valuable experience the last half of the season. He is definitely a keeper.
We were asked to not whine and complain. Let's see, you lasted until the 4th post of the thread. That must have been tough.

Good post, nicely repeats the Washington Post coverage of the Skins this year. I think you got not only all their poinst but their catch phrases. Too many cooks, no discipline, hire a GM. I dont' think most of us read the Washington Post so it's nice you went back and documeted their positions in a post for us.

No GM will want to come into this situation as it is currently set up. As long as Gibbs is PoFO the GM will basically be working for him. If Joe isn't PoFO I fear "the Danny" will reclaim the title and then having a GM won't matter. I think if the team brought in a real pro personell person and shipped Vinny to a far away place (one way ticket), and get rid of the group selection process things would get better. Right now if you don't like the free agent that was signed or the rookie that was drafted you can't point to one person and say that was his pick. We need that one person to point at.

The defense has to many coaches that aren't coaching together but GW is on record as saying offenses may have figured out the scheme so I doubt he thinks it's the scheme why else would he hand pick a player that doesn't fit his scheme?

What makes you think Gibbs was refusing to do anything and with him been the head coach who was it that he was refusing? Campbell is young and is learning as he goes had he been inserted earlier in tha season how much more would he have had to learn while playing?

I agree the player have to take some of the blame but it's enough to go around
