The line not so bad, it's just once somebody get past them and then they have to trust struggling guys like Holdman or Marshall to make a stop. We have some holes to plug in on that side. I actually don't see B-Lloyd with the team next year, just a gut feeling, that's not really a prediciton.

No question Lloyd will be back. I can see questioning whether we should have signed him, but there's no way we take the cap hit to dump him. Personally I thought he showed a lot of potential, he's a young guy. And I think most of the issues were getting him the ball. I.E., the QB. I.E., Mark Brunell. He made some nice plays. Definately not enough, we need more in the future. But we need to get him the ball more in the future too.

No one commented on MB. I would love to see him as a backup. I've been trashing him as a starter, so I'm not "defending" him this year. But I think a 37 year old QB could be a good influence on a young QB.

Again, I don't know the cap ramifications. I know we have them with him either if we keep him or don't and I'm not advocating we pay what it takes to keep him. Just that I would view it positively AS LONG AS HE DOESN"T START!!!!

Clements in Redskins' plans?
<Dec. 18> The Redskins will likely ask several veterans -- perhaps CB Shawn Springs, QB Mark Brunell, DE Renaldo Wynn and ORT Jon Jansen -- to redo their deals in order to clear cap space to make a run at some free-agent defenders. The apple of their eye reportedly is Bills CB Nate Clements, writes Pro Football Weekly.

i think that we need to get a linebacker through the draft replacing lamar marchal who is horrible and just work with mcntosh to replace holdman. we saw rocky in a few playes against the saints. i think the line is fine, but needs to get more pressure. we could pick up ONE corner in the back because of springs is unreliable and rogers is a butterfingers who has only had one good game this whole season. the safteys are fine but fox isnt the answer.

thats my opinion.....

Middle linebacker appears to be at the top of the list, how much should the chemistry of this team change beyond that?

The offense doesn't need any changes really imo. I wouldn't mind seeing Samuels or Jansen replaced (Wade did a very good job filling in for Jansen today). Defense is another story. Carter has played much better recently, and with Golston and Griffin in the playing well in the middle, I think that we just need to bring in another DE that can rush the passer. I would love to see us draft Gaines Adams for that position. I think the area that needs to be addressed the most is at linebacker. We need a mlb BADLY and Holdman has to go. In the secondary we need to bring in a starting caliber corner and add some depth.

I agree. A no brainer, actually, except that I would go for DE Gaines Adams first, the MLB second, and bring in a best available corner. We have a number of great surpises, or near surprises, this season: Golston, Fox, Carter (at last), kicking game, level of Campbell's play. We'll be stronger with Prileau back and Rogers recovered from his slump. I know he dropped six possible interceptions, but the upside of that is that he was in position to make the plays. The huge surprise, however, is Betts. He's looked like one of the best, if not the best Rb in the game, since Portis went out and Campbell moved in.
Not exactly surprising to me, but surprising to some, is how much better the running game is with Brunell out of there; I thought it would improve, but not this much. It's caused me to re-evaluate the quality of our OL.
I was also surprised by Wade. Let's now hope Washington hasn't loss a step, which is a fear of mine, and no one will ever consider playing Holdman again.
