Something is cooking in Redskin Park, and I smell PORK.

PIG ROAST....all those Head Coaches (aka Assistants) are leaning back in their chairs right now?

How does Greg Williams feel about the POSSIBILTY in losing Bailey?

Do you know how much it will cost to sign 3 first round picks?

Smizzmeister - we will make moves to cut a bunch of deadweight and restructure - we will have the money, trust me :)

No man, the Skins can aquire multiple picks in the draft for restricted free agent compensation...or contract players (AKA, Drew Bledsoe trade day of draft 2 years ago).

Who knows...anything can happen. All I know is that big things are going down and it is not even March yet.

stay tuned I guess. wowzers.

:hmm: I remain at a loss but not surprised. I guess this was coming with the frugal spending of the late '90s. Time to break it up and pay the piper, the worse is yet to come. I know I sound bitter but if champ does leave, I hope he takes a nagging injury with him that limits his playing time (says the guy whose hot babe just gave him the boot).

For those of you sad about the possibility of Bailey not being with us next year, think about this....
If we trade Bailey, were most likely gonna end up with 1 first round pick minimum, maybe 2. If we sign one of the big name FA corners(preferably Chris McAlister), then we have already replaced the void of Bailey, with 2 round 1 draft picks. That would be like trading Champ Bailey for McAllister/ Woodson/ Etc. and getting 2 round 1 picks with it. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Plus, don't worry about Dallas or Philly picking up Champ, theyre too damn cheap.

This is total crap! I am so mad right now. I know he's not a team player but we better do something to bring in Ty Law or something if Bailey goes. I know Redskins56 will be fumed if he responds on this thread. I know I am!

You guys may remember me bashing Bailey a few months ago but Redskins56 brought me down to Earth that it makes complete sense to bring back the best (probably :hmm:). I'm pretty mad right now.

I agree, Mr Jake. We need Baily back, somehow, someway.

The Redskins do want Bailey back, but he is just asking for too much. Honestly, have the Redskins been a winning team since we got Champ. No. Just in his rookie year. He is a damn good CB but you can't sacrifice so much to keep him. Besides, we could possibly get so much for him. Its not as bad as you think man. Actually, it could be for the best. CB is an important position, but not the most important in the game. You can find descent CB's out there for half the cost.

How depressing! I'm not totally shocked, but very disappointed. I understand that with a better D-line that we wouldn't need such a great CB, but still. It pains me to see him go (if that's what happens, and I think it is.) I think these pasy years of losing no matter how hard he tried, different D-coordinator every year, and just the circus that IS Dan Snyder finally wore him down. I feel your pain all too well, smizzy. I knew it was hard to lose Coles, but I didn't know it was this hard. I am obviously one of those HUGE Bailey supporters. I hope you don't leave us Champ! Take less money and less time if that's what you want.

Why do a lot of you think these draft picks are so damned good? Champ has proven to be one of the best if not the best CB's in the league. You NEVER know what you're getting in the draft. I've seen WAY too many 1st rounders just go by the wayside. KEEP CHAMP!!!!

The Redskins have put a more than fair offer on the table in an effort to keep Bailey in town. The sooner you all realize this, the better it will be for you: Champ Bailey, unlike Lavar Arrington, DOES NOT WANT TO BE A REDSKIN!

I'd love to keep him...but if his heart isn't here, I say let him go and look for other CBs out there! There are plenty, you know.

these draft picks, while nothing is garunteed through the draft, are the best way to get young and cheap talent....something we need, unlike the overpaid vets we keep signing.

But who can replace him, seriously??

Charles Woodson, Troy Vincent, Bobby Taylor?? Yeah right.

hey champsturf, think of it this way, the last time we had 2 first, we landed arrington and samuels...... that should help some with your heart

I may help my heart a little, but no more than aspirin. We pretty much knew what we were getting with them. I don't know of any corners in the draft like that except MAYBE Gamble from OSU. However, I'm not so sure about him either. He didn't have a very good year this year and actually cost the Bucks another shot at the National Title. I guess I'll just sit back and pray.

I've been thinking about Champ and while I'd love to have Him remain a Redskin it seems He doesn't want to be one. So if He doesn't then lets see what we can get for Him hopefully mutiple picks in the draft. If the Skin's are to become a TEAM they don't need any individuals who don't want to be here.

The trade isnt done yet but it doesnt sound very good. I know that there are people on the board who say see ya and dont let the door hit you in the ass but wont it be disturbing to see him in anything other than burgundy & gold? I know that we have made him a fair offer but who the hell is even in his league that is out there. Taylor who got burnt in the playoffs, McCallister who is a long shot anyway with only one good year under his belt and countless off the field problems, Plummer etc. And what are they going to cost? He is only 25 and is the top cover corner in the league regardless of the fact that he got beat a few times this year. Oh well if it happens I guess we must just move on. But with who?

McAllister will be franchised.
