Williams will never be HC material. I never wanted him here and as you see it is a steady decline on the defense. We need young innovative minds on both sides of the ball not these old geezers that are like most of the players on this team PAST THERE PRIME! Williams is a self absorbed ass that drinks his own koolaid and as long as he is here we will never get anywhere, yeah the ranking are in the past and every year they have declined. That speaks for itself. Adam Archuleta is further proof that not just anyone can play in this SUPER SMART SCHEME!!

I was really glad to see Joe Gibbs return to the Redskins. I thought that now we would get back to being the power team that we were during his first tour. After last year, I thought that we were on our way. That is not the case! It is painfully apparent that Gibbs is not going to be the Redskins savior and that he NFL has passed him by. I do not wish for 2 more years of Joe Gibbs.
I'm really curious about your proposed solution. Since the end of Gibbs first stint we have barely been to the playoffs. Snyder keeps going for the biggest name guy available and paying what it takes. Every time we switch coaches we change philosophies and purge the team to get new guys who play the new philosophy.
Gibbs came back and got a bad team. Second year he goes to the second round of the playoffs. This year behind a horrible QB and with key injuries we are bad. And bad we are this year, no dispute there.
But you say can him. OK, now we sign another coach, get another philosophy and purge the roster again. To me that seems inevitible to lead to another losing cycle, and you would I am sure can that coach before they can turn it around.
So, what is your EXACT proposal other than firing Gibbs? How are you going to end our endless head coach changing losing cycle when you are ready to fire the second winningist percentage active coach, who's in the hall of fame, who has won all 3 of our Superbowls after only 2 1/2 years with one of those having ended a long playoff drought?
My solution? Simple, convince Dan Snyder to sell me the Redskins.
Actually my solution and yours does not count for anything. I am serious about Joe Gibbs though. It is painful to watch him stand on the sidelines and listen to his acknowledgements of failure. He deserves better. He put himself into this situation because he felt that he could take the team back to their place as a powerhouse team in the NFL. He deserves credit for that. But he does not seem to know what to do to fix it. I truely wish he could.
As for a new coach and a new system? New Orleans seems to be doing just fine with a new coach and a new system. San Diego and Arizona are not doing fine with an old coach and an old system. Face it, the era of Gibbs, Parcells, Green, Shottenheimer, Brunell, Warner, Culpepper is gone.
Can you answer my question now? What EXACTLY would you do? First you wanted to buy the team, then said you were kidding. Then you said "New Orleans seems to be doing just fine with a new coach and new system." OK, but that's not a course of action.
I disagree with your assessment of Gibbs, but that's cool. My feeling is that Gibbs has had mixed results but I think continuing to churn coaches and systems as you propose guarantees we get the results we have gotten since Gibbs first stint.
We were a bad team when he came. OK, we are having a tough 3rd year. Believe it or not that's not really that unusual if you look at teams that have long term successful coaches. Brunell sucks, but NFL caliber QBs are not a dime a dozen. I'd like to see Campbell, but he's a very young guy and I am not with him on a daily basis like Gibbs.
BTW, I didn't know what "Actually my solution and yours does not count for anything." means.

I still want Gibbs and believe that he will be here next year. Even though I beleive he has been a little stubborn about the QB situation, I still think he is a good leader for this team.
When he was questioned at the end of last season about staying or not, I believe him when he said that he signed a 5 year deal and would honor that contract.
I still love Gibbs.

Agreed! I wish his bashers would have a little faith and a better attitude. Also agreed on the Brunell part.
