As much as I am. We are tied up so far this week: a miserable 8 -7 with one game remaining.

Darnit - I thought I might get lucky at some point this year either on this pool or my money pool at work....no such luck !

And the winner of the Hognostications NFL week 10 contest is no other than:

1niksdeR

It really does not matter whether he gets the Tampa pick or not. He is two games ahead at 10 - 5 against 11 others in 2nd place at 8 - 7.

He is always unconventional with his choice of picks and he has won several weeks now. Amazing. He is the only one to play and Hognosticate against the grain.

He already caught up with me in the season standings after being at the bottom of the table for a while at the beginning.

Congratulations 1nik !!! Keep it up.

As a comparison, the ESPN experts got so far:

Theismann 10-5
ESPN 9-6
Schlereth 9-6
Allen 8-7
Mortensen 8-7
Golic 8-7
Salisbury 7-8
Hoge 7-8
Jaworski 7-8

This week's TRAITOR still lost a game against all second places. Good!

The differences in the season standings as a whole are tightening up. Only a few games separate the top 20 players.

Thanks to BossHog for taking the time to repair the software and for placing all of our picks today. :hail:

This is not a disaster YET. You are still ahead of Redeemed in the general season standings.

An analysis of this week's results and the general standings is presented in the new Hognostications Counterpoint Blog.

By the way, I forgot to place Peter "the Sleazy" Queen picks this week 10. If anybody has them, could one you please post them here to keep track of his score against ours? Thanks in advance.

I have truly stunk the place out in Hognostications this year. I am a worthless human being, devoid of any merit. My performances have been lower than low.

Does anybody have a rope?

Look people and read carefully:

This is called the "I-am-lower-than-Redeemed" syndrome. It attacks unsuspecting Hognosticators the likes of whom have not been paying attention to the Crystal Ball, Texas Hog's Hognostications, my psychic picks in the Counterpoint, or just not watched some video summaries in the NFL.com.

It is sad but true. England is now in decline. The sad end of the British Empire as we knew it. Wait! Not really ... Scottish Hog is doing actually very well. It must be only England then. It must be probably an echo of the results of the last World Cup in Germany, the past elections in the USA or the prospect of new elections in England, maybe :hmm:

No need to feel bad for UK Skins Fan, or England for that matter. All of us are actually "lower than redeemed" in this world at some point, unless, of course, you repent. My 2 cents

If that actually could help your score, I'd say to all, Go for it!

It just seems hopeless in the standings over two seasons right now.

Apparently I forgot to load the picksheet for week 11 this morning, but it's posted now.

Maybe I am wrong but I do not think that the season and the weekly standings include the outcome of the MNF game yet.

Lower than Redeemed? Oh good grief. It's worse than I thought. Forced to wander through the desert of life, without so much as a sunhat and a pair of sandals. The shame of my performances so far gives me no hope for the future.

Of course, just like Joe Gibbs, I blame myself. But this lousy NFL parity thing is killing me.

The good news is you have company at this lowest level = SkinsJock, TexasHog, UK Skins Fan and last but not least JansenFan are all there together.
The bad news? We all do trail TRO by 2 BUT life must be interesting in the you-know-who household where Scott has to live with Niki who is 2 games up

Time to get out of this basement and I will begin that journey this week with our new QB  step aside TRO, we're coming thru!

You're right of course, Skinsjock. Better still, we are not far now from week 13, where I have already foreseen that I shall achieve the perfect score.

Redeemed will only have himself for company down in the basement league by then.

Redeemed gave up as the play of Number Eight dwindled and was finally demoted to #2.

It has been "weeks" since he does not predict a PERFECT score. Do you see the correlation? Bad MB play = No perfect score

EITHER he is only going through the motions of filling the picksheet forms now and he is not even trying to win anymore.

OR he just came to his senses -finally-. He understood that this is a long and ongoing journey towards the bottom of the standings and he has resigned himself to lose. Maybe he was removed from the starting line up too.

This is how much work you guys need to do:

Code: Select all

Excuse me Ric - but this is meant to make UK Skins Fan, myself and the other basement dwellers feel better?
please let us suffer this ignominy by ourselves - at this stage we can only hope for a better day - we surely do not need to be reminded how easy it is to be better than our pitiful record

No, it is supposed to provide you with much needed encouragement.

I am trying to tell you guys that you are super smart  . We are in this Hognostications contest together 8) . I would like to be with you during some tough times (at a considerable distance  ). It all starts with me (at the Counterpoint and threads) and I take full responsibility (for my picks) .

Feel better now?

Thanks mate - I got a little lucky with a couple of picks. I think that Seattle is a better team than the 49ers but I thought they might not match them in intensity at home. I especially liked the pukes defence against Manning but the colts are a much better team than we saw last night.

by the way when are the picks due this week?
