I love CP but that should have been a straight up trade. CP for Bailey.

Imagine if we hadnt given up the 2nd pick and we got another player of CP's pedigree. Or Cooleys talent? We'd have CHEAP, young talent.

Im not upset with CP, he's a beast but we consistently IMO give up too much at the time of the signing. If we gave up 20 picks for CP people we defend it.


It's not necessarily that simple. Champ Bailey wanted just insane money (and he got it, a flat 9 mill a year contract). It's Champ and his contract request for Clinton, his new contract, and a 2.

With that money saved from the Bailey trade, we were essentially able to sign Griffin and Washington (their contracts are together about the same as Bailey's).

I'd take Portis, Griffin and Washington for Tatum Bell and Champ Bailey.
