:puke:

RiC, no need to quote, as I am more aware of the tragedy here than anyone else.

:puke:

I've never picked against the Skins in my life. Never.

I was making my picks in a semi-rush. My usual method is to hit "home teams" and then change whichever away teams I think will win. I don't know how this slipped through. . .

:puke:

Looks like I deserve an asterisk this week (and in the final season standings). I've never been so ashamed. . . .I'd rather miss this week entirely than take my current picksheet.

:puke:

Well, not like I don't deserve it. Ticket for one, Hall of Shame please, RiC. . .

Well if it was just a mistake then it's not a problem for me to change it.

I should make you take the egg, but being that picks don't have to be in until 9pm... there's no reason I can't fix it for you.

But I'll wait until I enter the rest of the picks... so you'll have to live with a day of shame and explaining yourself.

I'm being honest when I say that it was a mistake on my part, and I understand that there are consequences to messing up.

. . .but I'd be lying if I said that I don't want it changed pretty badly.

Above all I want this to be fair. . .this mistake was stupid enough that I can see exactly why I should have to live with it.

So, to my fellow Hognosticators: will you let me switch my NYG pick to a Washington pick? Not only will you help me save face after a most embarassing slip-up, but you will also help me get an extra point when the Skins take New York by storm this Sunday.

Anyone who has a problem with my pick being changed--or wants to support a brother who apparently has been sick in the head--can sound off in this thread. I put myself at the mercy of my fellow Hognosticators, having lost the right to speak up myself.

You'll have until early this evening, at which point I'll either (a) PM Boss to ask him to change it before the deadline, or (b) prepare for a my well-deserved Week of Shame.

:feedback;

Like I said initially, I was shocked so I'm glad to see this was a mistake, my vote is to allow a pick change

Any other mistake should have to stand, and I don't care how viable the excuse is. But correcting a mistake in picking against the Skins is something that I would have no problem with.

Even if it had been entirely deliberate, I would vote to allow the man to repent.

I made one pick against the Skins last year, and the feeling of self loathing is one that I would never wish on a brother from THN. It won't be happening again, UNLESS I find myself in the same unfortunate position as Irn-Bru. In that case, I'd be begging to have the pick changed. My 2 cents

No way

will you save face after this, but I have no problem with the change.

You owe RiC for pointing it out in time or you you would never have lived it down

You -should- know that you are creating more work for the big man here. But if -he- is willing to help a Staff member in times of dire need, who am I to object?

But something else comes to mind: If you rush like that to make those picks and -still- have a better score than I do, What does that say about my picks? Depressing ...

Any body seen Jake lately??? Just wondering ... ;furious;

I sincerely hope that SkinsChic does NOT visit this thread this week. Otherwise, somebody might sleep in the dog house for the rest of the NFL week. Yes, the week includes the Monday Night game.

By the way, if all of you want to know how I start my picks, I DO take the Redskins first. I only worry about the rest of the schedule. 8)

I say Boss should change his pick only after FFA says 10 Hail To The Redskins.

Well, it is time to recapitulate the WHO IS WHO on this board:

Seven TRAITORS inducted in the Week 2 HALL OF SHAME

ATV
Countertrey
Dmkskins86
JPM36
Justice HOG
riggins85
Scottish Hog

:puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:

One TRAITOR and lowly Blogger inducted in the Week 4 HALL OF SHAME

CHADDUKES
:puke:

Two TRAITORS and one STAFF member inducted in the Week 5 HALL OF SHAME

Jake
JPM36

:puke: :puke:

JPM36 gets the distinct privilege to be a double TRAITOR . In other words, he is the only poster on this site and until now presumably a fan that feels that his score might be more important than the loyalty to his team two weeks during the first quarter of the season. Well done. I hope you enjoy your defeat in the Hognostications competition with a very sour taste in your mouth.

To the other one, the "staff member" who did not have even the stones to come to this thread and explain WHY he supported the Giants to win, I ask one question:

Q. How would you Jake Russell explain to Chris Samuels the fact that you do not have faith and loyalty to him and the rest of his teammates to go and win in NY???

Oh, let me help ya young fella. How about something from the bottom of your heart like ...

Oh Chris, I am such a BIG FAN of you. I stand by your side, I am a REAL fan of yours and the Skins as far back as I remember. I even write Exclusive Articles for THN, you know. I am a leading example of what a young fan should be ...

... but I do not trust you. I think Lavar Arrington is going to play rings around you guys and the Giants offense with Tiki, Shockey, Plaxico and Eli are going to RUN and PASS all over you guys.

Oh, did I forget to mention that ...
Oh Chris, I am such a BIG FAN of you. I stand by your side, I am a REAL fan of yours and the Skins as far back as BLAH, BLAH, BLAH ...

And PLEASE Jake, when you speak to Chris, could you please NOT mention THN? PLEASE???

I am disappointed about your bad judgment as a fan. Enjoy your bitter pick.

Well, I've confessed, received pennance, repented, and am in good standing.

That was a trial by fire, but thanks to RiC for having the sense to slap me around (as well as my fellow staff members). Now that I'm back from the other side I'll have to incorporate a new strategy in my picks:

1. Select "All Home"
2. PICK THE SKINS
3. Make the rest of my pick changes.
4. CHECK TO MAKE SURE THE SKINS ARE PICKED
5. Write "Hail to the Redskins" in the comment section (been doing this since week 1, including this week, despite my mistake. . .)

Now, let us never speak of this again. . .

Why not? Let us have some catharsis while we are at it.

Hey Jake, how about another hint:

Oh, Mr. Gibbs, I am Jake from THN. I bleed Burgundy and Gold ...

... well, -ALMOST- all the time. I don't when you go to NY and play in Meadowlands. I bleed blue and red but only that Sunday. Other than that, I -RRRREALLYYYYY- bleed Burgundy and Gold.

I would be ASHAMED if I was YOU. Scratch that ... You should be ashamed PERIOD! Disgraceful.

How long will it take before this thread ends up linked in a NY, Dallas or Philthy board? Pitiful.

You WILL get your pick wrong tomorrow. -That- is not the point.

How does it feel to be called a TRAITOR?

I hope you remember this thread in the future as a FULL TIME FAN.

Whatever... do you really think I'm rooting for the giants just because i picked them?

And yes, the guy who wears Redskins jerseys and flies his Redskins car flag everyday is a part time fan.

You take Hognistications way too seriously. It's just picks.

And I honestly don't care what you call me. I know what I am. You can't judge me based off of ONE pick.

Do not explain it to me. Explain it to Chris Samuels and Joe Gibbs (and the rest of the board maybe) why you feel that picking the Giants is a message of faith and confidence in the Redskins. (See the two hints above.)

Jake,

There are no exceptions. Anybody that calls him/herself a Washington Redskins fan in this board picks the Redskins -every- week. You win or lose -with- your team. How hard is that to understand?

Got it now?

I know where my remaining picks for the Redskins lie in ALL NFL weeks to come, Do you?

Well then you can call my a giants fan for all I care. I don't care what your opinion is on picking games or what you think of me or my picks and I don't care how you pick your games.

I know that whenever I pick the Skins the rest of the year you're just gonna say I'm doing it to make up for this week or cover up and whenever I pick against the Skins the rest of the year that I'm gonna be a traitor.

I really don't care what you call me.

I do know that I have never been or never will be a part time fan and will ALWAYS root for the Redskins. And THAT is more important than who I think will win that week.

Take a hint from Joe Texan. here's a fan of a team with the worst record over several seasons. He STILL picked his team to win against us a couple of weeks ago.

I admire fans like those that win and lose -with- confidence in their teams. We are Washington Redskins first and foremost, NFL fans second.

Do I take things way to seriously? Ihave been told that before. Backing up -our- team into every Sunday is indeed very serious business to me. If they do not have -our- confidence, whose confidence then? Are we truly the greatest fans Joe Gibbs speaks of? If we are, we win and lose -with- our team.

But hey, maybe some of you are right. This is only a game. I mean not the Hognostications but the Redskins game. Win or lose, what it is important isto get the highest score in Hognostications, right? OK then.

I won the Hognostications last year -while- I had confidence in my team EVERY game. Call me a fool, I will do the same this season. After all the rules of the Hognostications do not preclude any true Redskin fan from showing more confidence in our opponents than our team. That's OK then

Enjoy the game tomorrow. I know I will.

My pick on who I think will win has NO bearing on the team winning or losing. The team does not go to the Hognistications, look for my picks, and say "oh, he didn't pick us so we might as well lose."

You put words in my mouth with every post you make.

So just get over my pick and watch the game like I will tomorrow.

I know who's joking with me when they call me a traitor and want me to fess up on my pick.

And you are not one of them... you are seriously questioning my loyalty and fanhood of this team which is REALLY annoying.

I'm done with this thread.
