He's holding the ball with the wrong arm. We may want to bring in the llama for depth along the D-line.

OK, he made a fool of himself, but let's not send the guy to the chair.
Damn funny though.

It looks like child abuse to me. Being a fool is no excuse for an adult attacking a child. It's not a capital offense, but I think he should be locked up for a while.
The boy was injured. I don't find that funny.
Seriously? I disagree. Injured - really?
I just don't see it. There are plenty of charges to lay at this guy, but a charge of child abuse just makes me laugh.

I'm going by what the boy's fathere said about the injuries. I take attacks on children very seriously.

Trust me, I do too. However, I am very impressed at the father's ability to diagnose the exact moment that his son received a couple of bruises, given that he had spent the previous couple of hours running into other kids with considerable intent. Then again, whether the child was injured is really not relevant, except to determine the severity of the assault charge.
I just can't accept this as being child abuse simply on the basis that the victim is a child. Child abuse suggests something different and far more unpleasant in my mind. This is assault, and the fact that a child was involved makes the offender a coward in addition to being a thug, but I'd stop well short of calling him a child abuser.

I think maybe you're confusing child abuse with child molestation. Nobody has accused him of molesting the kid. People (even parents) have faced abuse charges for simply striking a child on the butt.

Just because the victim & criminal know each other doesn't mean it was premeditated. A lot of assaults & even many murders are heat of the moment. A lot of domestic violence isn't premeditated, it results from someone losing his or her temper. The victim was much much smaller than the attacker, pads or no, it was far from even. I'll bet that if your kid had been the victim of this thug, you would have a different attitude.
I would be pissed at him but I wouldn't think he should go to jail, a lot normally means most. If it was my kid I would get him punished and banned from the league not sent to jail. Crimenals are crimenals to make money and to do that most of them are planned. There are some heat of the moment but most are planned, thats why in law there is a lesser punishment for heat of the moment than planned.
Not all criminals are doing it for money. There are bars that call cops on a nightly basis do to fights breaking out. It's anger &/or twisted machismo. Domestic violence is not profitable as far as I know, neither is rape. This thug needs to be somewhere where he can't hurt kids.
Your right rape is to show power, child molestation is because thats there sexual prefrence.
