He strikes me as a guy who wouldn't care too much. Not a big enough star to chase after lucky numbers (ala Portis or Sean Taylor) and probably not enough money for it, either. He looks like he's more interested in running people over, and soon.
I say give him 48. I'd love to see a #48 Skins jersy knocking people and getting some great down-hill runs in again..
