Osi Umenyora was taken at #56 just 3 years ago.
The 53rd pick should be able to contribute immediately.

After reading the Whitlock article, I went spying on the Chiefs' fan boards to try and get some type of confirmation one way or the other about Al Saunders' potential 'grand standing' or whatever he called it. I couldn't find it, most of their fans thought he would be a good fit as HC until Herman Edwards got hired, then it flipped around the other way, sounded like sour grapes...
...In any case, the more informational piece of news was in regards to a senior prospect, Garrett Mills, from Tulsa. 6'2", 230, played TE and had 87 catches for 1200 yards and 9 tds as a Senior. Projected as a 4th-5th rounder, he sounds like a good fit for the H Back role (although it may not exist as it had this past season under the new scheme going into next year) and would allow

ey to move to the more conventional TE spot (and put Royal on the bench if he's still around)... Mills played in the Senior Bowl over the weekend, but I didn't see much from him.
However, while we're pilfering from the Chiefs, wouldn't hurt to grab one of their prospects as well, esp. one that led D-I TE's in receptions this past college season....Also would allow us to use our 2nd rounder on a young DE.

Al Saunders is following all acquisitions on offense. so, I am sure he is aware of this. Good homework!

Samuals is the one that screws up all the time. Randy Thomas and Rabach are pretty good.

Why? Even if I had saved it for now, I'd still have been right.
Glad you guys enjoyed the article and I greatly appreciate your thoughts. Interesting signings thus far by the skins. Especially on offense. I think Randle El and Lloyd can really flourish in Saunders' scheme as they are ideal fits for what he likes to do.

I don't think any of us saw this aggressive offseason coming, Saga45
After all, by all appearances we were supposed to be in big cap trouble right now. Funny how these things work. . .
