Man I hope he stays a skin. All indications point to him coming back he has a smile on his face and his first taste of playoff success. Hopefully the Snyder maistro and Lavar can comprimise and meet halfways.

He's not SUPPOSED to be looking for the big play... remember? This is, was and always will be about discipline. I watched the game with a couple of THNers (sup hill66 and malicious) and I said before the game that Lavar was going to have a big game... so I watched him a lot. What I saw was a guy playing good, solid, disciplined linebacking play. He was staying in his lanes, he was peeling off in to coverage and holding zones... he was doing everything that takes away from his natural killer instincts.

And to dismiss his interception as unworthy of 'big play' status just because it hit him square in the numbers is pretty cavalier as well. Do you know why it hit him in the numbers? Because he was back in zone coverage where he was supposed to be instead of over-pursuing somewhere.

I think Lavar DID have a monster game. Not because it was flashy, but because it was EFFECTIVE.

I also think the guy is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

Personally... I hope we get the EXACT game out of Lavar this Saturday that we got last Saturday... and I'm willing to bet that with the exception of the 3rd down penalty, Gregg Williams would say the exact same thing.

Am I not allowed to make speak what I observed. CLEARLY you can see that the guy didn't look all that good carrying the ball. CLEARLY thats evident by him fumbling the ball after the run.

All I said was that he still has some healing to do, was it that mean of a statement?

I was on him for freelancing.... that appears to have ended
I didn't like the comments he made over past 2 years or so.... He kind of explained most of it away or it just died down.

I don't know what everyone expects from him but I see him doing his job on a high level. What else should I expect from him

Well I guess if he was a running back then we'd have to care what he looked like running the ball wouldn't we?

But since he's a linebacker, we only have to really worry about what he looks like linebacking (:hmm:)

Ok, I guess I kinda skewed my initial observation by speaking on him fumbling the ball. In all honesty my first post was in regards to his legs and how I felt his running motion was still being hindered by injury. He didn't seem to move freely, seemed a bit tense and not fluid IMHO.

Yes, he's not a running back but as he continues to improve and intercept more passes I want him to hold on to them.

feeling a need to keep stirring the pot - I agree that Arrington played the position very well and that would be huge this week as if we have all the D playing the scheme and keeping their assignment as well as he did last week we will be very effective on that side of the ball again.

I will add that I thought he did not look as fluid after the interception as we have seen him. I think this is what Chris was pointing out! I don't know exactly why but he just looked a little "stiff".
I thought he had a great game but he used to be a lot more fluid when running with the ball than we saw, no?

Exactly, I was expecting to see him gallop into the endzone but he seemed a bit slower than I expected. Im not dissapointed in him at all especially with the knee and thigh injury. I think an offseason of strength building in his legs will cure it.

I guess so, I was just expecting the same fluid motion you see when he's pulling down RB's in the backfield. I think you're right that a defender who isn't used to carrying the ball

would feel/react a bit awkward with one.

I still think his injury had something to do with it. Lemar looked just fine running with the ball. Marcus looked fine running with the ball but didn't protect it well which goes back to what Boss said. Taylor runs with the ball well but he played RB in HS. Lavars legs in particular looked awkward in their motion, he also didn't look comfy carrying the ball which like boss said he's not used to do. However I was expecting a bit more fluidity in his running. Do I attribute it to his injury, lack of playing time, lack of ball handling prowness? Im not sure. Just something I noticed.
